You’ll spot these empty, oval frames all over Hogwarts – dark, glass-less mirrors set flush against the wall. Some players call them butterfly mirrors, though what actually appears once lit is a moth. Head to The Library Annex, off the main hall, and you’ll find a pupil stuck on a riddle. Talk to her to pick up the quest “Like a Moth to a Frame” – here’s how to solve it.

Finding the Location with Lumos
The quest name is a play on the phrase “like a moth to a flame,” used to describe something drawn irresistibly toward someone or something else. That’s your first clue.
Walk up to the empty frame and cast Lumos. The dark frame fills with colour, revealing a location somewhere in the world that you’ll need to track down.
Solving the Moth Puzzle
Follow the purple circle on your mini-map to the location the frame revealed – in this case, the base of a staircase. Cast Lumos again once you arrive. The moth is drawn to the light and starts circling your wand.
Head back to the frame – it’s no longer empty. A moth-shaped indent has appeared beneath the picture. Turn off Lumos and the moth settles into place, completing the puzzle and rewarding you with a Field Guide Page.
