- 4. Uphill Lava Trail
1. Pencil Plaza
The Pencil Plaza at Lava Pit, World 4, has 16 collectibles to find. Here they are:
1 – Lava Hopper – 3DModel 35
The first collectibles chest is right at the start in the left corner.
2 – Lava Ziggy – 3DModel 34
Continue the path to the next area. To the left, there is a block to MOVE! but you need to DIG! the path free first. Then move the block so it sinks into the floor. Cross the gap, DIG! your way to the chest.
3 – Into the Pit – Soundtrack 33
Take the cannon and the pipe until you get to the next chest.
4 – 10 Power Orbs
Take the pipe and the cannon back and follow the path to the next area. There’s a chest to the left.
5 – Remote Hog Tarot 4
In the same area, take a left turn before crossing the bridge.
6 – Combat in the Cemetery – Soundtrack 30
Same area, on the other side.
7 – A Stroll in the Cemetery – Soundtrack 31
Continue and cross the battle area. At the next platform, there is a wooden block wall to SMASH! to the left.
8 – Blubbernaught – Tarot 11
On the other side SMASH! the wooden blocks to find the red button. Hit it and take the cannon and the pipe to get to the chest .
9 – 5 Power Orbs
Take the pipe behind the previous chest, go down on the other side and SMASH! the wooden box wall to get to the chest.
10 – Lava Smasher – 3DModel 36
Continue and cross the next battlefield. After the wooden bridge with the lava falls, go down to the right and use the green down arrow to get to the chest.
11 – Gymbecile – Tarot 8
Continue with the story path. Right after the mouth, there are a couple of boxes to SMASH! Next chest is in one of them.
12 – Ballistic Mystic – Rabbid Peach Primary
Next up, the Red Ring Challenge is right next to the previous chest.
13 – Phantom’s Theme – Soundtrack 32
Go back where the Red Ring Challenge started and take the pipe. SMASH! the blocks in front of it.
14 – Bwaaahr Machines – Artwork 27
Return with the same pipe and now follow the path until you see a big ring of coins. The chest is in the left corner of this area.
15 – Lava Valkyrie – 3DModel 37
Head down to the next platform, where you’ll see a house-like structure. Go around to the back to collect the coins, then step inside the house. You’ll find the chest waiting for you there.
16 – Interplanetary Outhouse – Tarot 18
Beyond the next battleground, you’ll find a statue, some colored blocks, and a sealed cannon. Nearby, there’s a pattern on the floor that you’ll need to replicate by interacting with the button and the statue. Once you’ve solved the puzzle and unlocked the cannon, be sure to take it with you.
2. Minecart Mayhem
The Minecard Mayhem at Lava Pit, World 4, has 9 collectibles to find. Here they are:
1 – The Mine – Artwork 22
Take the cannon back and follow the story path. You pass a battleground and go through a big tunnel/corridor to the next big area with a lot of blocks to SMASH! Notice, there is a block to push down and a green area, where you can go down. Do so. The goal is to push the block onto the green platform, then onto the yellow platform, and then onto the red square button to reach the next chest. Use the buttons to do so.
2 – Weapon: The King – Peach Secondary
Back up, take the Red Ring Challenge.
3 – Weapon: Mushroom Marauder – Rabbid Mario Primary
Next, and last in this area, the Blue Cannon Challenge.
4 – 10 Power Orbs
Continue the story path, cross a battle area with Challenge 1, and get to a platform with a lot of blocks to SMASH! SMASH all blocks in the bottom right corner. A blue button will appear, and when you hit it, an elevator will come up with the chest.
5 – Sombrero Vaquero – Tarot 1
On the other side, there is a chest behind some blocks. SMASH! them to get there.
6 – Lava Buckler – 3DModel 38
Also in this area, after you SMASH!ed all the blocks, you’ll see that you can DIG! a path for a block to push down. Do so. Also, there is a green arrow to climb down, not far. Climb down to get to the Chest.
7 – Burning Butt – Tarot 15
Now you can DIG! again and push the block you’ve pushed down previously onto the red button. This unlocks the Cannon. Take it.
8 – 10 Power Orbs
Take the pipe next. DIG! and SMASH! your way to the chest.
9 – 5 Power Orbs
Take the cannon and continue the path. (Reference: This is after the colored platform puzzle and after Challenge 2). You get through a long corridor/tunnel to an area where you can DIG! 3 times. SMASH! one block. It will lead to a chest.
3. Factory Floor
The Factory Floor at Lava Pit, World 4, has 26 collectibles to find. Here they are:
1 – Smithy – Artwork 23
SMASH! the block in front of the pipe and take it. In the area full of SMASH!able blocks, start SMASH!ing!
2 – The Forge Battle – Soundtrack 34
SMASH! some more!
3 – Lava Peek-A-Boo – 3DModel 40
Return and continue the path. Go passed Challenge 3 to the puzzle where you have to turn the various pipes to get down. There’s one chest with the blue button.
4 – 5 Power Orbs
After that puzzle, you pass another battle area (Challenge 4) and get to a platform, where you have to DIG! some ground to be able to MOVE! a block onto the Red Square. This unlocks the Cannon. Take it.
5 – Lava Supporter – 3DModel 39
This chest is next to the previous.
6 – Yoshi – 3DModel 42
Take the pipe from here.
7 – Cart Blanche – Tarot 7
Go all the way back to the first cannon and pick up the chest close to it, if you haven’t done so already.
8 – Hilarious Accident – Tarot 17
Continue the story path to the next platform.
9 – Peeper Reaper – Mario Secondary
The Blue Cannon Challenge is next to the previous chest.
10 – Mecha Prototype – Artwork 24
Continue and you’ll get to the big pipe challenge. Turn the pipes so you can reach the bottom left area.
11 – Exploring the Mine – Soundtrack 35
Also at the pipe labyrinth, push the buttons so you can reach the area at the bottom right.
12 – 20 Power Orbs
Last one at this pipe labyrinth, use the buttons so you can reach the far back area.
13 – 20 Power Orbs
Now go down the pipe and continue the story. Cross the big battle area and you’ll get to some blocks. There are movable blocks on the other side. Move them in a mirrored way. Don’t forget to push one down…
14 – Heart of Darkness – Soundtrack 36
Go ahead to the moving platform puzzle. There’s a chest on the side.
15 – Mecha JR. – 3DModel 41
There’s also a statue to grab here. Take it and put it on the red pedestal on the other side.
16 – Reaper of Moles – Tarot 13
Continue until you see a box to move in front of the pipe to the left. Move it down and take the pipe. On the other side, move the Box again until you can take the next pipe.
17 – Lava Boss V0 – Artwork 26
Take the next pipes and DIG! your way to the chest.
18 – Mushroom Tunnel – Artwork 25
Next pipe, SMASH! some blocks to get to the chest.
19 – Weapon: Gobblegoose – Peach Secondary
Go all the way back and follow the path. Cross Challenge 6 until you get to the Blue Cannon Challenge.
21 – Lava Queen – 3DModel 45
After the first battle, continue to go up until you see a block that you can push down. There is also a chest nearby.
22 – Megabug – 3DModel 47
After fight 2, you can pick up this chest.
23 – Bowser’s Theme – Soundtrack 40
Take the green arrows to go down…
24 – Bowser’s Castle – Artwork 28
Pick up the statue on the way down and go up to put it on the yellow pedestal. Then keep pushing down the block, get the same statue from above, and put it on the blue pedestal. Now you can access the last 3 chests.
25 – 20 Power Orbs
Next to the previous chest.
26 – Megadragonbowser – 3DModel 46
Next to the previous chest.
4. Uphill Lava Trail
The Uphill Lava Trail at Lava Pit, World 4, has 10 collectibles to find. Here they are:
1 – Life Bwaaah – Tarot 20
Leaving the Secret Chapter and going through the mouth.
This chest is right at the beginning of the “Uphill Lava Trail” chapter. You probably have already picked it up in the story…
2 – Loud Talker – Tarot 5
Next to the previous. DIG! free the path for the block and push it on the button. Take the cannon that just appeared.
3 – Theme with No Name 1 – Soundtrack 37
Follow the path across the two battlefields until you get to the area with the SMASH!able blocks and the broken pipe. Smash the first block in your way. The chest is inside.
4 – Bwaluigi – 3DModel 44
Nearby in the open.
5 – Bwario – 3DModel 43
SMASH! All the blocks in the area and push down the unsmashable one. Then push the grey button and go through the pipe.
6 – Blooper Shooter – Yoshi Secondary
Go back and take the Red Ring Challenge in the area.
7 – Pottymouth – Tarot 3
Continue the story path to the gate riddle, where the block needs to be pushed around. The chest is on the top floor.
8 – Theme with No Name 2 – Soundtrack 38
After solving the block pushing puzzle, go through the gate. The next chest is right before the next battle.
9 – 20 Power Orbs
The last puzzle, before you have the big end fight. Push the blocks so you can get to the chest at the healing mushroom.
10 – Theme with No Name 3 – Soundtrack 39
At the entrance to the castle.
