About The Pioneer
Administrator: The Pioneer

The Pioneer comes from a long line of explorers. His grandparents lived as nomads in the pre-Stranding era, travelling the world and exploring the oceans. At a time of mass communication, when the internet meant any information could be had at the mere lift of a finger, they preferred to venture out into the world for sights and experiences that couldn’t be found online.
They were reluctant to settle down, and even gave birth to their son in the middle of a voyage across the Pacific Ocean. They passed down their pioneering spirit to their son, who in turn passed it to the Pioneer.
Though the Death Stranding has made such adventuring more dangerous, the Pioneer has not lost this spirit. He has ridden camels across the desert and watched fireworks explode in foreign skies. When he heard a plate gate had appeared down south, he walked through without a second thought. When a BT area appeared to the north, he held his breath and started searching for gazers.
He dreams of the day when all of Australia will be connected to the chiral network, hopeful that another plate gate will appear, and a whole new adventure will begin (same here! Death Stranding 3 – can’t wait!)
Rewards: The Pioneer
Each Knot City and Shelter has a five-star reward system, granting rewards and upgrades with every star reached. Gain more reputation by delivering goods. APAS firmware upgrades, bandwidth increases, and Material Allotment increases are granted with every star reward. Shelters additionally offer Sam a place to rest at the 5-Star level.
Porter-to-Porter Advice
Struggling to find enough cargo to boost Sam’s reputation with The Pioneer? There’s a simple solution. Open the Ring Terminal menu and head to the “Orders” section. From there, navigate to the “Search” tab and select The Pioneer under “Delivery/Report Destination.” Confirm your search, and you’ll receive a list of available Order Locations for The Pioneer. It’s a quick and convenient way to make a Porter’s job a whole lot easier.
1-Star Reward
Deployable Shield

A shield that provides protection from frontal attacks. It will block incoming projectiles and explosive blasts as long as it has sufficient durability, and can be placed on the ground to form a makeshift barricade.
Note that it provides no protection against electrical attacks and vog, or from attacks made from the sides or rear.
If the shield is equipped, it can be used to attack enemies in front of you, inflicting non-lethal damage.
2-Star Reward
Camel Hood

A hood that resembles the head of a stately camel. Equipping this hood increases Sam’s cargo capacity and slows the rate at which stamina is depleted in high temperatures. After Sam’s stamina decreases a certain amount, the hood will also automatically restore it using a built-in water supply.
Replenish the camel hood’s water supply by exposing it to timefall or submerging it in water.
3-Star Reward
DHV Magellan Support Weapon: Fireworks

Mesmerising fireworks that can be shot from the DHV Magellan’s auxiliary cannon. They have been produced using records of a pre-Stranding firework manufacturing process believed to have been left behind by a Japanese craftsman, and happened upon by the Pioneer.
These chiral fireworks contain a small amount of chiral crystals mixed with gunpowder, which produce large blossoms of light that delight and overwhelm onlookers.
The loud noises they produce can be used to mask Sam’s presence. Be aware that fireworks are not at their best when used during the daytime or when it’s raining.
4-Star Reward
Porter Suit: Desert Red

A suit designed specifically for making deliveries. S-size cargo can be attached to the shoulders and the hips. Its pattern will camouflage you in muddy or sandy environments.
5-Star Rewards
1 – Custom Hologram: The Pioneer

A Hologram of The Pioneer can now be selected under any Structure Customisation.
2 – Patch 64: Camel Hood

A 1×1 backpack patch that allows the wearer to express their individuality. Serves as proof that you have reached the maximum connection level with the Pioneer.
