In the newly established UCA, all deliveries are handled by APAS, making the porters who used to risk their lives to deliver cargo in the harshest of environments all but redundant. Many porters have struggled to cope with this sudden change. One, known as the Bokka, has simply refused
it.

“We do a whole lot more than just deliver cargo,” the Bokka has been known to say. “When we bring you a package, we also bring you hope – hope that you’ll live to fight another day. Nothing’s going to convey that message like a guy, flesh and blood, standing at your door, covered in dirt, sweat and tar, carrying your precious cargo. You won’t get it from a machine, that’s for sure.”

This spirit perfectly encapsulates the ‘Bokka’ – traditional Japanese porters known for lugging huge loads up and down mountainsides. They were sometimes known as ‘mountain masters’, or even ‘lifelines’.

After the UCA was established, there remained people outside of its borders who were in desperate need of deliveries. As such, the Boklq travelled down to Mexico to be their lifeline, hoping to one day master the mountain of the Death Stranding.

Rewards: The Bokka

Each Knot City and Shelter has a five-star reward system, granting rewards and upgrades with every star reached. Gain more reputation by delivering goods. APAS firmware upgrades, bandwidth increases, and Material Allotment increases are granted with every star reward. Shelters additionally offer Sam a place to rest at the 5-Star level.

Porter-to-Porter Advice

Struggling to find enough cargo to boost Sam’s reputation with The Bokka? There’s a simple solution. Open the Ring Terminal menu and head to the “Orders” section. From there, navigate to the “Search” tab and select The Bokka under “Delivery/Report Destination.” Confirm your search, and you’ll receive a list of available Order Locations for The Bokka. It’s a quick and convenient way to make a Porter’s job a whole lot easier.

2-Star Reward

Sticky Gun

A firearm that launches adhesive cables to reel in cargo from a distance. Once readied, it will automatically lock onto any pieces of cargo within range. After it is pulled toward you, the cargo must be plucked from the air with a well-timed catch. The sticky gun has no effect on humans or
BTs.

Sticky guns have become very popular among porters as a useful means of recovering cargo from inaccessible areas. As the number of porters has dwindled, however, fewer sticky guns have been fabricated.

3-Star Reward

Patch 9: Porter

A 1×1 backpack patch that allows the wearer to express their individuality. Received as a token of gratitude from the Bokka.

4-Star Reward

Porter Accessory

A porter’s soul in accessory form, allowing porters to make connections with one another. For some mysterious reason, attaching this accessory to your backpack allows you to see other porters’ locations when looking at your map.

1 – Custom Hologram: The Bokka

A Hologram of The Bokka can now be selected under any Structure Customisation.

2 – Patch 42: Porter

A 1×1 backpack patch that allows the wearer to express their individuality. Serves as proof that you have reached the maximum connection level with the Bokka.
