In Memoriam – Starfield Miscellaneous Mission Walkthrough

Mission text:
“I’ve been asked by Sarah Morgan to help discover the fate of the crew of the UC Dauntless, a ship she commanded and was lost during the Colony War. To begin, we should speak to admiral Logan in New Atlantis , who might have the information we need.”

Head to the MAST District in New Atlantis and enter the MAST building. Take the elevator up to Central Command / Office of the President / Systems Defense.

Admiral Logan is at Central Command in his own office. Talk to him.

Mission text:
“After confronting Admiral Logan, Sarah and I have discovered that her crew was lost at a specific site on Cassiopeia I. We should proceed there to begin our investigation into the fate of her crew.”

Travel to Cassiopeia I in the ETA CASSIOPEIA system, northwest of Alpha Centauri. Land at the “Ship” symbol, near Sarah’s old campsite.

Mission text:
“Sarah and I have landed on Cassiopeia I, near the campsite where her own shuttle crashed years ago. I should speak to her to begin investigating how to track down the second crash site, the location of the crew.”

Speak to Sarah.

Follow the mission marker to the campsite. Talk to Sarah after you’ve arrived.

Mission text:
“The telemetry data for Sarah’s crew’s crash site is within her former shuttle’s wreckage. I’ll need to find an Emergency Power Cell to bring her old computer back online.”

There is a specific “Dauntless Power Cell” that you have to find…

Follow the marker up the hill.

Open your scanner. You can easily follow a grey-blue Fluorine path to the top of the mountain. Here you can find the Dauntless Power Cell. Return to the crash site and use the Power Cell.

Mission text:
“The telemetry data for Sarah’s crew’s crash site is within her former shuttle’s wreckage. I’ll need to find an Emergency Power Cell to bring her old computer back online.”

Enter the wreck and interact with the empty power cell stot to insert it. You can then interact with the computer and read the Telemetry Data.

Mission text:

Sarah should be with you in the room.

Mission text:
“With the power to Sarah’s old shuttle partially restored, Sarah and I were able to locate the telemetry data and pinpoint her former crew’s crash site. We should return to our ship and proceed there to continue the investigation.”

Travel to the other crash site called “SHIP” on Cassiopeia I.

Reach the Crash Site. You will have to fight some hostile wildlife off. You can walk up to the Shuttle Main Cabin and enter it.

Mission text:
“A young girl has turned out to be Sona, the daughter of two of the UC Dauntless’s crew who had her while being marooned on this world. Sona’s told us that all of the crew, including her parents, died and were buried nearby.”

After you’ve met the mysterious girl, speak to Sarah again.

Mission text:
“After a short discussion, Sarah has decided to remain with Sona while I retrieve the UC Dauntless’s crew’s genetags from their makeshift graves. We intend to bring the genetags back to MAST to close the book on these lost soldier’s lives.”

Exit the cabin and head to the mission marker. Use the scanner so you can see a suggested path up the hill at the back. There will be a couple of coralbugs attacking on the way. But you should finally arrive at the crash site.

The genetags are hanging on the gravestones. There are 9 intact gravestones and a broken one. So you can collect 9 tags. After you’ve picked up the ninth, two big silverfish will attack. One of it carries the last genetag on its body. Just loot it.

Mission text:

Return and talk to Sarah.

Mission text:
“Upon returning from the gravesite, I’ve found Sarah and Sona at an impasse. Sona wants to remain behind on her world, while Sarah wishes to bring her back to New Atlantis. I’ll have to decide which option to choose.”

Talk to Sona and choose if she should stay or come along. I chose latter. Speak to Sarah later.

Mission text:
“I’ve decided that Sona should return back to Jemison with us. I should now speak to Sarah before we return to New Atlantis.”

Exit the Shuttle Main Cabin and head to the mission marker, the romantic overlook. In my case, Sarah took her time so wait for her to arrive. You can then talk to her.

Mission text:
“After speaking with Sarah, we’ve decided to return to New Atlantis and close the chapter on the fate of the UC Dauntless’s crew by speaking once again to Admiral Logan.“

Head back to New Atlantis – MAST and speak to Admiral Logan on the Central Command floor.

Mission text:
“After speaking with Sarah, we’ve decided to return to New Atlantis and close the chapter on the fate of the UC Dauntless’s crew by speaking once again to Admiral Logan.“

This step will only appear if you’ve decided to take Sona with you. Head to the Lodge to speak to her.

Mission text:
“After speaking with Admiral Logan, Sarah’s requested to visit the Colony War Memorial in New Atlantis. I should proceed with her there as soon as I can.”

The memorial is in front of the MAST building. Talk to Sarah when she’s there.

Mission text:
“After speaking with Sarah at the Colony War Memorial in New Atlantis, she’s suggested we speak about something of a more personal nature near the waterfall in New Atlantis.”

Let’s get ready for the romance or friendship talk at the waterfall, then…

To get to the Waterfall, go to the Spaceport. There is an elevator behind the Jemison Mercantile shop that goes either to The Well or to the Waterfall Promenade. Take it to the Waterfall and talk to Sarah at the marker. Choose love or friendship. This will conclude this mission.
