The “Bury the Hatchet” Side Quest starts at Sweetlopek’s Workshop west of the spaceship. He’ll tell you that his hatchet has been stolen and you’re the one to get it back! Here’s what you need to do.
HOW TO GET TO SWEETLOPEK’S WORKSHOP?
The access point to this hilly area in the west of the spaceship is south east of it, where the little lake on the map is. All you need to do to build a bridge with your Scan Ability. Then you can go up to Sweetlopek’s Workshop to talk to him.
JOIN UP WITH VAMPASTRA IN PALETTEVILLE
Vampastra is waiting in front of the highest house in town. Talk to the owner and he points you to “the other” Pumpkin House. There is another Pumpkin house over the water, but don’t let it confuse you. That’s not it!
INVESTIGATE THE “PUMPKIN HOUSE” …THE OTHER ONE
There is another house in town with lots of pumpkins in front of it. It’s lower down, closer by the water. Enter it and talk to the owner.
TRACK DOWN “THE SONGBIRD”
And again, you have to go to another house. This one is closer to the first (see map screenshot). Go inside and read the diary.
TRACK DOWN “THE FORK”
The Fork lives in the house next door. Enter it and read his notes. But that does not help. You need to find him.
He’s waiting further up on the path that leads from town to the waterside.
FIND THE MAGIC WETSTONE
Vampastra, the Spark, asks you to follow it. Take the path down to the Darkmess Barrier. It requires the green square key.
Go all around that huuuge purple-red-white animal head next to it. The green square is there. Put it into the device and the barrier disappears.
Continue to follow Vampastra to this spot:
Use the Scanner at this location and you’ll find the Magic Whetstone.
BRING THE MAGIC WHETSTONE TO “THE FORK”
Take the Magic Whetstone to “The Fork”. He will tell you who the thief is.
EXPOSE THE CULPRIT, HINKY / BREAK IN
So it was basically at the first house we’ve been for the quest. Talk to Hinky at his house, then enter it.
Win the fight against the Puddle inside to finish the Quest. Vampastra joins the team.
