Collection Chests
Uncovering the collection of chests hidden within the Astronomy Wing of Hogwarts Legacy is a thrilling adventure filled with rewarding discoveries. These chests offer unique treasures like wand handles and conjuration items. Scattered across classrooms, staircases, and even locked areas, each chest holds a piece of the magical history and charm that defines Hogwarts. Prepare to explore every corner of the Astronomy Wing as you hunt down these valuable collectibles.
1 – Professor Fig’s Classroom
To find this chest, climb the main staircase of the Astronomy Wing and enter Professor Fig’s classroom through a smaller staircase. The chest is on a desk and rewards you with a Corkscrew Wand Handle in light and dark brown.
2 – Charms Class Puzzle Door
Above the Charms Class in the Astronomy Wing of Hogwarts Legacy, players will encounter a locked puzzle door that presents an exciting challenge. To locate it, make your way to the Astronomy Wing and head to the upper levels near the Charms classroom. The puzzle door is marked with two triangular diagrams featuring numbered circles and symbols of magical beasts. To unlock it, players must solve a simple arithmetic equation displayed on the door.
Each beast symbol corresponds to a specific number, and the solution involves determining the correct beasts that add up to the missing numbers in each diagram. For example, if a triangle shows the total as 15, and two of the circles display “5” and a beast symbol representing “3,” you’ll need to identify a beast worth “7” to complete the equation. A cheat sheet for these numbers can be found in-game, or players can deduce them through trial and error.
Use the interactable question mark buttons near the door to select the correct beast symbols. Once both triangles are solved, the door will unlock, revealing a hidden room filled with treasures. Inside this particular puzzle room, players will discover a collection chest containing Small Game Tables, a delightful conjuration item to personalize their Room of Requirement.
First Math Task
Let’s start with the first maths task:
0 + 3 + ? = 5
ZERO plus THREE plus TWO = 5
Select the GOAT as the ? – The third beast from the left in the door frame.

Second Math Task
Let’s do the second maths task:
Unicorn + 4 + ?? = 12
The Unicorn is, according to the door frame, a 1
1 + 4 + ?? = 12
ONE plus FOUR plus SEVEN = 12
Select the 4-LEGGED OCTOPUS as ??

Now you can open the door.
Reward: Small Game Tables – Conjurations
3 – Courtyard Exit Puzzle
The Courtyard Exit Puzzle in Hogwarts Legacy is a fascinating challenge located just outside the Astronomy Wing, near the exit that leads into the Transformation Courtyard. While technically part of the Library Annex, this puzzle door still contributes to the collectibles in the Astronomy Wing, so be sure to count it toward your completion progress.
To solve the puzzle door, you’ll find the familiar triangular diagrams with numbered circles and beast symbols. Each symbol corresponds to a number, and your goal is to figure out which symbols complete the sums displayed within the triangles. For example, if a triangle shows a total of 21 and includes 10” and a beast symbol representing “5,” you’ll need to find the beast worth “6” to solve the equation. If you’re unsure of the symbol values, refer to the clue sheets found in-game.
Let’s start with the first maths task:
11 + GOAT + ? = 21
The GOAT is, according tothe door frame, a 2
ELEVEN plus TWO plus EIGHT = 21
Select the SPIDER as the ? – The ninth beast from the left in the door frame.

Once you have the correct numbers, interact with the two question mark panels beside the door. Rotate the dials to select the corresponding beast symbols that match your calculations. When both triangles are completed correctly, the puzzle door will unlock to reveal a hidden room.
Let’s do the second maths task:
SIX LEGGED SPIDER + KRAKEN + ?? = 17
The SIX-LEGGED SPIDER is, according tothe door frame, a 5
The KRAKEN i,s according to the door frame, a 9
5 + 9 + ?? = 17
FIVE plus NINE plus THREE = 17
Select the HYDRA as ?? – The fourth animal from the left in the door frame.
The ?? button is above the door, one floor up.

Now you can open the door. The chest is inside.
Reward: Skull and Candles Shelf – Conjurations
Inside, you’ll be rewarded with a collection chest containing the Skull and Candles Shelf, a unique conjuration item to personalize your Room of Requirement. This delightful reward not only enhances your collection but also serves as a testament to your problem-solving skills. Don’t miss this puzzle door as you gather field guide pages and explore the magical secrets of the Astronomy Wing in Hogwarts Legacy.
4 – Charms Class Upstairs
Inside the Charms Class is a staircase winding toward a locked room. Unlock it to uncover a chest on the rooftop that rewards you with a Celestial Blue Wand Handle.
5 – Office at the Bottom of the Staircase
A locked office located at the base of the Astronomy Wing’s main staircase houses a chest containing an Avian Beige Wand Handle, available only after unlocking the door.
6 – Bell Tower Wing Basement – Alchemy Class
Deep within the basement of the Bell Tower Wing, beyond a dragon statue, lies a locked door leading to the Alchemy Class. Inside, you’ll find the last chest in this category with a matching Avian Beige Wand Handle as your prize.
Field Guide Pages
The Astronomy Wing is home to two types of Field Guide Pages. Revelio Pages document Hogwarts lore, while No Name Pages require interaction via spells like Accio, Lumos, and Levioso.
Revelio Pages
1 – Tapestry of Barnabas the Barmy
This page, located in the Astronomy Tower above the Charms Class, is revealed by casting Revelio on a whimsical tapestry that tells the story of Barnabas and his futile attempt to teach dancing to trolls.
Collectible description:
“This tapestry depicts the wizard Barnabas the Barmy’s foolish attempt to train trolls for the ballet. One can only imagine the impact on the arts had he succeeded.”
2 – Astronomy Telescope
At the top of the Astronomy Tower, players can locate this page by examining the telescope used for stargazing.
Collectible description:
“This telescope is the finest stargazing instrument of its kind, perfect for viewing the moon and the stars and anything else one might find in the night sky.”
3 – Partial Transfiguration
Professor Weasley’s office on the ground floor of the Astronomy Wing contains this page. Cast Revelio to uncover a curious tale about a magical misstep involving a teacup.
Collectible description:
“This partially Transfigured teacup – likely the soon-to-be-reversed error of a second-year – serves as a cautionary tale for those students who do not take seriously the complexities of dangers of Transfiguration.”
4 – Augurey Skeleton
This page is tied to a skeleton displayed within the Astronomy Wing. Use Revelio to learn more about this creature known for foretelling rain.
Collectible description:
“This is a skeleton of an Irish phoenix or Augurey – an intensely shy bird who can forecast the coming of rain and whose mournful cry was once believed to foretell death.”
5 – Boggart Closet
The Boggart Closet in the Astronomy Wing of Hogwarts Legacy is located at the bottom of the main staircase. Interact with the closet to trigger a quick scene, after which you’ll receive a field guide page. Make sure to stop by here while exploring to collect this straightforward reward and advance your progress.
Collectible description:
“This old cupboard is said to have once contained a powerful Boggart that five professors working together could barely repel as it shifted among werewolf, tornado, a plate of haggis, a Hungarian Horntail, and someone’s mother-in-law.”
6 – Hebridean Black Skeleton
A massive dragon skeleton dominates the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom. Revelio reveals a page that recounts the triumph of Professor Hecat over Eastern Wales’ largest poaching operation.
Collectible description:
“This large dragon skeleton that hangs in the Defence Against the Dark arts classroom is allegedly a trophy taken by Professor Hecat after she single-handedly defeated one of the largest poaching rings in Eastern Wales during the Great Poacher Raid of 1878.”
7 – Painting of Illyius
At ground level in the Astronomy Wing, you’ll encounter a large painting that celebrates Illyius, an orphan wizard who heroically defended his village from Dementors using a mouse Patronus.
Collectible description:
“This painting depicts the young orphan wizard Illyius, who famously saved his entire village from an army of Dementors and the Dark wizard Raczidian by conjuring a mouse Patronus.”
8 – Serpentine Beast Window
This vividly colorful window is another must-find collectible in the Astronomy Wing. Its design, while mistakenly linked to Salazar Slytherin by some, represents a mythical creature entwined with Hogwarts symbolism.
Collectible description:
“Although Slytherins like to think this window is somehow a tribute to their house founder, it is actually a serpentine beast coiled around a tree that extends from the mouth of the legendary Green Man.”
9 – Dark Tower Cell
Unlock two doors to reach the rooftop, where you’ll find this page that recounts the tower’s history as a place for students to practice difficult spells.
Collectible description:
“It is said that, centuries ago, a Charms professor kept a troll here on which students could practise particularly challenging spells. Shocking, to be sure, but perhaps unsurprising during a time when Quidditch involved the use of live Snidgets. One can only wonder what it may be used for in the future.”
10 – Alchemy Class
Head down the main staircase in the Bell Tower Wing to the basement. In the corridor past the dragon statue, you’ll find another locked door after the “Important Muggle Artefact.” The Field Guide Page is inside.
Collectible description:
“An arcane subject offered to older students on the rare occasion when demand suffices, Alchemy focuses on the four natural elements and the science of transmutation.”
11 – Wyvern Fountain
The Wyvern Fountain is located in the courtyard between the Astronomy Wing and the Library Annex.
Collectible description:
“This fountain in the Transfiguration Courtyard has a likeness of a wyvern on top and serves as a relaxing place for students to gather. Despite rumours to the contrary, possibly started by Sir Cadogan, this is most assuredly not meant to be the Wyvern of Wye, slain by the lively knight in spite of himself.”
12 – Pungent Passage
From Charms Class in the Astronomy Wing, take the staircase down. At the bottom, look for a door on the right. Go through it, and you’ll find yourself in the Pungent Passage.
Collectible description:
“This passage is relatively non-descript as far as passages go. However, the mishandling of a crop of Mimbulus mimbletonia in the sixteenth century – and the accompanying tsunami of Stinksap – left it with a rancid odour that even the strongest Scouring Charm cannot seem to eradicate.”
No Name Pages
Unnamed Pages in Hogwarts Legacy are a unique type of Field Guide Page that do not appear under the Revelio Page section of the Collections Menu. Unlike regular pages, these Unnamed Pages vanish after being collected but still count towards your Field Guide Page total. While they aren’t explicitly documented in the Collectibles Section of the menu, they contribute to completing Field Guide Challenges, so they’re essential for players aiming to 100% the game. Below is a detailed guide on where to find and how to interact with each type of Unnamed Page:
- Flying Pages
These are Field Guide Pages that float through the air in various locations around Hogwarts and Hogsmeade. When you spot a Flying Page, cast ACCIO to pull it toward you. Once captured, the page will disappear, but it will be added to your overall Field Guide count. Keep an eye on open spaces and hallways as these pages often dart through high-traffic areas. - Black Empty Painting Frames
Occasionally, you’ll come across large, blank black painting frames lining the walls. These frames hold a magical puzzle. Use LUMOS in front of the frame to reveal a glowing image that displays a specific location near you. Explore the area shown in the image to find a moth fluttering around. Guiding the moth back to the frame with your lit wand will complete the puzzle and grant you a Field Guide Page. - Dragon Bowls
These dragon-shaped bowls are small, fiery puzzles scattered throughout Hogwarts. To interact with these, cast a fire spell such as INCENDIO or CONFRINGO to ignite the bowl. Once lit, the bowl will release an Unnamed Page that you can collect before it fades away. - Globe-Holding Statues
These statues depict a figure holding what appears to be a globe, and they can be animated using LEVIOSO. Cast the levitation spell on these sculptures, and you’ll see an Unnamed Page emerge. Quickly collect it before it disappears.
Each type of Unnamed Page requires a specific spell and is tied to puzzle-solving or exploration. While these pages aren’t explicitly categorized in the Collections Menu, they provide an extra layer of challenge and exploration for players. Tracking them and collecting them will ensure progress toward your Field Guide Page Challenges and help uncover more of the magical world in Hogwarts Legacy.
13 – Charms Class Flying Paper
From Charms Class, head up the stairs past the statue outside to reach the student lounge. You’ll find a Flying Paper there.
14 – Wine Cellar Flying Paper
The best way to reach the Wine Cellar is through the Bell Tower Wing. Head to the large staircase there and go to the bottom, where you’ll find access to the basement. Continue down past the dragon statue, and you’ll arrive at the Wine Cellar.
15 – Black Mirror 4th Floor
Go up the main staircase to the 4th floor, the top floor. You’ll find a black mirror there.
Cast “LUMOS” on the black painting to reveal a picture that will stay visible. The picture shows the location you need to find. Head through the nearby corridor and take the stairs on the other side. At the top, you’ll reach the location shown in the painting. Look for a moth sitting on a pillar.
Cast “LUMOS” near the moth to make it fly around your wand. The moth will follow the light as long as it’s active. Bring it back to the frame and stand close to it, then deactivate “LUMOS.” The moth will move into the slot beneath the painting. As a reward, a Field Guide Page Collectible will appear—pick it up, and the picture will disappear.
16 – Black Mirror Astronomy Tower
As you head up to the Astronomy Tower, you’ll find a fireplace with a black mirror beside it. Cast “LUMOS” and then go upstairs to where the small telescopes are. You’ll find the moth sitting on top of the blackboard.
17 – Black Mirror Pungent Passage
From the Charms Class, head down the staircase until you reach a door on the right. This will take you to the Pungent Passage. You’ll find the Black Mirror hanging in this corridor. Continue through the corridor to the next area, which is less pungent. You’ll find the moth there.
18 – Dragon Bowl near Prof. Fig’s Classroom
From the Charms Class, head down the staircase until you reach a door on the right. This will take you to the Pungent Passage. You’ll find the Black Painting hanging in this corridor. Continue through the corridor to the next area, which is less pungent. You’ll find the moth there.
19 – Dragon Bowl at the top of the Astrology Tower
Head to the top of the Astrology Tower. You’ll find a platform with a winding staircase leading down. At the bottom, there’s a Dragon Bowl—light it!
20 – Globe Statue in Charms Class
Leave Charms Class and head upstairs to the Student Lounge area. From there, take the winding staircase up to the Astronomy Tower and enter the small room. You’ll find the statue there. Use “LEVIOSO” to unlock the page.
21 – Globe Statue at the Courtyard
Outside the Astronomy Wing, in the courtyard near the water, you’ll find a Globe Statue. Cast “Levioso” on it.
22 – Globe Statue at the Wine Cellar
The best way to reach the Wine Cellar is through the Bell Tower Wing. Head to the main staircase and go down to the basement. Continue down past the dragon statue to find the Wine Cellar. There, you’ll see a locked door with a frog inside. Interact with the frog, and it will take you to the Globe Statue.
Demiguise Statues
Demiguise Statues in Hogwarts Legacy are key collectibles that play a crucial role in upgrading your Alohomora spell, allowing you to unlock higher-level doors and access hidden areas. These statues, which can only be collected at night when their moons are visible, are scattered across Hogwarts, Hogsmeade, and the Highlands. To fully upgrade Alohomora, you’ll need to find all 22 statues as part of Gladwin Moon’s quest, “The Man Behind the Moons.” This guide will help you locate each statue efficiently, ensuring you can explore every corner of the wizarding world with ease.
