The Astronomy Wing has a total of 32 collectibles. 6 Chests, 23 Field Guides and 3 Demise Statues. Here’s where they are so you can complete the area 100%.
The only thing that’s missing is one Field Guide Page. Will be added asap.
COLLECTION CHESTS
You can find a lot of chests in the game. Some with money, others with gear. The special ones – the Collection Chests, have items that you can find in the “Collections” sections of the game menu.
1 – PROFESSOR FIG’S CLASSROOM
This Collection Chest is at The Astronomy Wing. Go all the way upstairs on the big, main staircase. Then go through the corridor to get to the other, smaller staircase up. Here you can enter Professor Fig’s classroom with the Collection Chest sitting on a desk.
Reward: Wand Handle: Corkscrew – Light and Dark Brown
2 – CHARMS CLASS PUZZLE DOOR
In the student’s lounge just above the Charms Class at THE ASTRONOMY WING is a puzzle door with beast arithmetic’s. Behind it is this Conjurations Collectible in a small chest.
Here’s how to solve the puzzle. First of all reveal the two maths tasks in the centre of the door. The task at the top has one question mark and the one at the bottom two question marks. You should see those question marks nearby as rotatable buttons. That’s where your answer goes.
Before you start calculating, look at the door frame. Ten animals, ten numbers from 0 – 9 from left to right. So the seal at the bottom left has the Zero, then the unicorn has One, the goat has Two etc. That’s the beast you have to select in your rotating button.
Let’s start with the first maths task:
0 + 3 + ? = 5
ZERO plus THREE plus TWO = 5
Select the GOAT as the ? – The third beast from the left in the door frame.
Let’s do the second maths task:
Unicorn + 4 + ?? = 12
The Unicorn is according to door frame a 1
1 + 4 + ?? = 12
ONE plus FOUR plus SEVEN = 12
Select the 4 LEGGED OCTOPUS as ??
Now you can open the door.
Reward: Small Game Tables – Conjurations
3 – COURTYARD EXIT PUZZLE
Just by the exit to the Transformation Courtyard is a puzzle door. Even though the puzzle is in THE LIBRARY ANNEX, it is counted for THE ASTRONOMY WING area.
11 + GOAT + ? = 21
The GOAT is according to door frame a 2
ELEVEN plus TWO plus EIGHT = 21
Select the SPIDER as the ? – The ninth beast from the left in the door frame.
Let’s do the second maths task:
SIX LEGGED SPIDER + KRAKEN + ?? = 17
The SIX LEGGED SPIDER is according to door frame a 5
The KRAKEN is according to door frame a 9
5 + 9 + ?? = 17
FIVE plus NINE plus THREE= 17
Select the HYDRA as ?? – The fourth animal from the left in the door frame.
The ?? button is above the door, one floor up.
Now you can open the door. The chest is inside.
Reward: Skull and Candles Shelf – Conjurations
4 – CHARMS CLASS UPSTAIRS
Inside Charms Class is a winding staircase that goes up to a locked room. Unlock it and follow the staircase further up to the roof, where the chest is.
Reward: Celestial – Blue – Wand Handle
5 – OFFICE AT THE BOTTOM OF STAIRCASE
At the bottom of THE ASTRONOMY WING’s main staircase is a locked office. Inside is a chest on the table Reward: Avian – Beige – Wand Handle
6 – BELL TOWER WING BASEMENT – ALCHEMY CLASS
Go to the big staircase of THE BELL TOWER WING down into the basement. In the corridor after the dragon statue is a locked door with the “Alchemy Class” Field Guide Page. In the same room is this chest.
Reward: Avian – Beige – Wand Handle
FIELD GUIDE PAGES
There are two types of Field Guides. Some have to be discovered – those would be the collectible Revelio Pages – and the “others” that need to be caught either with the “ACCIO” spell or in different ways. Those are not documented anywhere but counted against the FIELD GUIDE PAGES challenge. Below those two pages will be listed under “Revelio Pages” and “No Name Pages”.
The two pages from “Professor Ronen’s Assignment” don’t count towards the area completion since they are part of a tutorial quest.
REVELIO PAGES
The Revelio Pages in this area will be shown in the same order as they appear in the “Collections – Revelio Pages” Game Menu.
1 – TAPESTRY OF BARNABAS THE BARMY
From Charms Class in THE ASTRONOMY WING, work your way further upstairs into the tower part of the wing – the Astronomy Tower. Here, on a wall is this tapestry.
Collectible description:
“This tapestry depicts the wizard Barnabas the Barmy’s foolish attempt to train trolls for the ballet. One can only imagine the impact on the arts had he succeeded.”
2 – ASTRONOMY TELESCOPE
At the very top of THE ASTRONOMY WING is the Astronomy Tower with its telescope.
Collectible description:
“This telescope is the finest stargazing instrument of its kind, perfect for viewing the moon and the stars and anything else one might find in the night sky.”
3 – PARTIAL TRANSFIGURATION
This one is inside Professor Weasley’s room at the ground floor of The Astronomy Wing. Access through the courtyard.
Collectible description:
“This partially Transfigured teacup – likely the soon-to-be-reversed error of a second-year – serves as a cautionary tale for those students who do not take seriously the complexities of dangers of Transfiguration.”
4 – AUGUREY SKELETON
At the Astronomy Wing, there is a glass display with a skeleton in it. Cast Revelio when in front of it to be able to read it.
Collectible description:
“This is a skeleton of an Irish phoenix or Augurey – an intensely shy bird who can forecast the coming of rain and whose mournful cry was once believed to foretell death.”
5 – BOGGART CLOSET
At the bottom of THE ASTRONOMY WING’s main staircase is a locked office. Inside is this cupboard.
Collectible description:
“This old cupboard is said to have once contained a powerful Boggart that five professors working together could barely repel as it shifted among werewolf, tornado, a plate of haggis, a Hungarian Horntail and someone’s mother-in-law.”
6 – DARK TOWER CELL
At the Astronomy Wing, in the Charms classroom is a staircase to a locked door. Open it and follow the staircase up to a roof outside. Here is a gate that you have to unlock again to read the page that’s inside.
Collectible description:
“It is said that, centuries ago, a Charms professor kept a troll here on which students could practise particularly challenging spells. Shocking, to be sure, but perhaps unsurprising during a time when Quidditch involved the use of live Snidgets. One can only wonder what it may be used for in the future.”
7 – HEBRIDEAN BLACK SKELETON
At the Astronomy Wing, in the “Defense against the Dark Arts” classroom, there is a Revelio Page high up the stairs.
Collectible description:
“This large dragon skeleton that hangs in the Defence Against the Dark arts classroom is allegedly a trophy taken by Professor Hecat after she single-handedly defeated one of the largest poaching rings in Eastern Wales during the Great Poacher Raid of 1878.”
8 – PAINTING OF ILLYIUS
At the Astronomy Wing, at ground floor, is a big painting on the wall.
Collectible description:
“This painting depicts the young orphan wizard Illyius, who famously saved his entire village from an army of Dementors and the Dark wizard Raczidian by conjuring a mouse Patronus.”
9 – SERPENTINE BEAST WINDOW
At the Astronomy Wing, look for a colourful, big window.
Collectible description:
“Although Slytherins like to think this window is somehow a tribute to their house founder, it is actually a serpentine beast coiled around a tree that extends from the mouth of the legendary Green Man.”
10 – ALCHEMY CLASS
Go to the big staircase of THE BELL TOWER WING down into the basement. In the corridor after the dragon statue is another locked door after the “Important Muggle Artefact” with this Field Guide Page inside.
Collectible description:
“An arcane subject offered to older students on the rare occasion when demand suffices, Alchemy focuses on the four natural elements and the science of transmutation.”
11 – WYVERN FOUNTAIN
In the courtyard between The Astronomy Wing and the Library Annex is the Wyvern Fountain.
Collectible description:
“This fountain in the Transfiguration Courtyard has a likeness of a wyvern on top and serves as a relaxing place for students to gather. Despite rumours to the contrary, possibly started by Sir Cadogan, this is most assuredly not meant to be the Wyvern of Wye, slain by the lively knight in spite of himself.”
12 – PUNGENT PASSAGE
Take the staircase down from Charms Class at THE ASTRONOMY WING until you see a door leading to the right at the base of the stairs. Take that door and you’re standing in the Pungent Passage.
Collectible description:
“This passage is relatively non-descript as far as passages go. However, the mishandling of a crop of Mimbulus mimbletonia in the sixteenth century – and the accompanying tsunami of Stinksap – left it with a rancid odour that even the strongest Scouring Charm cannot seem to eradicate.”
“NO NAME PAGES”
As the name says, there are unnamed pages that don’t have a Revelio Page entry in the Collections Menu of the game. They do count as Field Guide Page, even though they “disappear” after you’ve picked them up. Places where Unnamed Pages are:
1 – Flying Pages – catch the page with “ACCIO”
2 – Black “empty” painting frames – Find the location inside the picture to find the moth
3 – Dragon Bowls– Use “INCENDIO” or “CONFRINGO” (Fire) on them.
4 – Globe holding Statues – Use “LEVIOSO” on them.
They’re not documented in the Collectibles Section of the game menu, but count towards the Challenges.
13 – FLYING PAPER ABOVE CHARMS CLASS
From Charms Class, walk past the statue outside up the stairs to the student’s lounge. There’s a Flying Paper here.
14 – FLYING PAPER – WINE CELLAR
Access point to the Wine Cellar is best from THE BELL TOWER WING. There, go to the big staircase. There is basement access at its bottom. Go all the way down, past the dragon statue to get to the Wine Cellar.
15 – BLACK PAINTING – 4TH FLOOR
Take the main staircase up to the 4th floor – the highest floor of the main staircase. There is a black painting.
Cast “LUMOS” on the black painting and a picture will appear and stay there. It shows the location you have to find. Go through the nearby corridor to take the stairs up at the other side. At the top, you’ll find the location that was displayed in the painting. Look for a moth that is sitting on a pillar.
Cast “LUMOS” again near the moth and it starts to fly around your wand. It will stay there as long as there is light. Return with it to the frame. Stand close to it with the moth and deactivate “LUMOS”. It will go into the mould underneath the painting. As reward, a Field Guide Page Collectible pops up, pick it up and the picture disappears.
16 – BLACK PAINTING – ASTRONOMY TOWER
On the way to the top of the Astronomy Tower, you will encounter a fireplace with a black painting next to it. After you’ve cast “LUMOS”, go upstairs where the small telescopes are. The moth is sitting on top of the black board.
17 – BLACK PAINTING – PUNGENT PASSAGE
From the Charms Class, take the staircase down until you see a door leading off to the right. It leads to the Pungent Passage. The Black Painting is hanging in this corridor. Keep following the corridor to the next not-pungent area. Here’s the moth.
18 – DRAGON BOWL – PROF. FIGS CLASSROOM LEVEL
On the same floor as Professor Figs Classroom and Office Floor, there is a Dragon Bowl mounted on the wall. Use “CONFRINGO” to light it up. Since you can’t reach to get it now, pull the paper to you with “ACCIO”.
19 – DRAGON BOWL – TOP OF THE ASTROLOGY TOWER
Go to the very top of the Astrology Tower. The platform there has its own winding staircase down. There is a Dragon Bowl below. Light it up!
20 – GLOBE STATUE – CHARMS CLASS
Exit Charms Class and go upstairs to the “Student’s Lounge area”. From here, take the winding staircase up towards the Astronomy Tower into a small room. That’s where the statue is. Cast “LEVIOSO” to get access to the page.
21 – GLOBE STATUE – COURTYARD
In the courtyard outside THE ASTRONOMY WING is a Globe Statue near the water. Cast “LEVIOSO”.
22 – GLOBE STATUE – WINE CELLAR
Access point to the Wine Cellar is best from THE BELL TOWER WING. Go to the big staircase. There is basement access at its bottom. Go all the way down, past the dragon statue to get to the Wine Cellar. Here is a locked door with a frog inside. Interact with the frog and it takes you to this Globe Statue.
DEMIGUISE STATUES
The Demiguise Statues are introduced with the Main Story Quest called “The Caretaker’s Lunar Lament”. Those small statues can only be picked up at night.
1 – PROFESSOR FIG’S OFFICE
There is a Demiguise not really hiding in Professor Fig’s Office – the room at the back of his classroom.
2 – OFFICE AT THE BOTTOM OF STAIRCASE
At the bottom of THE ASTRONOMY WING’s main staircase is a locked office. Inside is a Demiguise.
3 – BELL TOWER WING – BASEMENT
For this Demiguise, go to THE BELL TOWER WING’s main staircase. At the bottom is the basement access. Take it. Walk past the dragon statue and open the first locked door that you see. The Demiguise is just to the right when you come in. The weird thing is, the Demiguise is counted for the Astronomy Wing, the Field Guide Page in this same room is counted for the Bell Tower… magic happens!
