In Ghost of Yotei, there are 18 hidden Sumi-e locations. You can spot them by looking for a pillar covered in yellow flowers with a drawing mat nearby. Interacting with each Sumi-e location will reward you with a new vanity gear item. However, unlike other collectibles, finding all 10 grants you the Wolf Pack Mask as a reward.
If you can’t find them all, you can also play the Song of the Wolf on the Shamisen.
In-game description:
“Saito has dispatched trappers to eradicate all wolves in Ezo. Find Wolf Dens that have been attacked – and pick up the enemy’s scent. Clear out Saito’s hunting camps to save the wolves from extinction and increase your bond with the wolf.“
Ishikari Plain
There are two Wolf Dens in Ishikari Plain.
Dying Fire Wolf Den
The Dying Fire Wolf Den is in the northern parts of Ishikari Plain, just west of Matsumae Outpost.
Follow the wolf southeast to an unnamed Oni Raider camp. Defeat the Oni there.
Old Wound Wolf Den
The Old Wound Wolf Den is in the northern part of Ishikari Plain, by the Rumoi River.
Defeat the trappers at the destination to learn a new wolf technique.
Nayoro Wilds
There is only one Wolf Den at Nayoro Wilds
White Scar Wolf Den
The White Scar Wolf Den is north of Kankan Creek in the Nayoro Wilds. Defeat the trappers at the destination to learn a new wolf technique.
Oshima Coast
There is only one Wolf Den at Oshima Coast.
Waterfall Wolf Den
The Waterfall Wolf Den is in the northeastern map border of the Oshima Coast map region, just by a waterfall.
The wolf will lead you to a fighting zone northeast of Miyama Village. Defeat all of Saito’s men.
Teshio Ridge
There are two Wolf Dens in Teshio Ridge.
Biting Wind Wolf Den
The Biting Wind Wolf Den is in the northern parts of Sentinel Forest in the Teshio Ridge region.
Follow the wolf to a hunter’s camp and defeat the nine tails there.
Cold Lake Wolf Den
The Cold Lake Wolf Den is in the northern part of Teshio Ridge, east of Sarobetsu Lake.
Follow the wolf to a hunter’s camp north of Sarobetsu Lake and defeat the Nine Tails there.
Tokachi Range
There are two Wolf Dens at Tokachi Range.
1 – Hunter’s Watch
2 – Howling Fields
Howling Fields Wolf Den
The Howling Fields Wolf Den is in the northern part of Tokachi Range, just south of Boar’s Eye Cave.
Defeat the trappers at the destination and release the three wolves.
Hunter’s Watch Wolf Den
The Hunter’s Watch Wolf Den is at Ohara Plains in the south of the Tokachi Range region.
Follow the wolf towards the north to a camp east of Monument Tree and defeat the hunters.
Yotei Grasslands
There are two Wolf Dens at Yotei Grasslands.
1 – Great Mountain
2 – Green Hill
Great Mountain Wolf Den
The Great Mountain Wolf Den is northwest of Yotei’s Shadow Inn and northwest of the Crow’s Nest Watchtower at the Yotei Grasslands.
Follow the wolf to Jade Grove at the Yotei Grasslands, in the west. Release the wolf and fight Saito’s men.
Green Hill Wolf Den
The Green Hill Wolf Den is south of Lake Shikotsu at the Yotei Grasslands. Examine the dead wolf hunter and follow the wolf.
Defeat the poachers at the destination to learn a new wolf technique.
