Ghost of Yotei: All 18 Sumi-e Locations

Ishikari Plain

As you can see highlighted in the overview map below, there are three Sumi-e locations in Ishikari Plain. There is a third one that you will draw while following the main story quest.

1 – Defiant Roots, south of Rumoi River
2 – Chatting Crows, eastern Ishikari River
3 – Crashing Waves, Otaru Beach

Chatting Crows Sumi-E

Up on a hill to the west of the Abandoned Fishing Camp and south of the Nohoro Cave at Ishikari Plain. Look for the tree with the crows. That’s the place.

Crashing Waves Sumi-E

Climb up the impressive rock in the water at Otaru Beach, Ishikari Plain. At the top is a Sumi-E.

Defiant Roots Sumi-E

The Defiant Roots Sumi-E is at the southern shore of the Romoi River at Ishikari Plain – west of the Masked Man’s Quarry.

Takashi The Yari Master Sumi-E

Follow the story and meet Takashi, the Yari Master, at Ishikari Plain. At some stage, he wants you to draw this Sumi-E.

Nayoro Wilds

As you can see highlighted in the overview map below, there are two Sumi-e locations in the Nayoro Wilds.

1 – Drying Bark, at Iwor Woods
2 – Peaceful Kotan, east of Niptay Mountain

Drying Bark Sumi-E

Travel to Iwor Woods in the Nayoro Wilds and head west, with the house behind you to find the Sumi-e of Iwor Woods.

Peaceful Kotan Sumi-E

On the southern edge of the Noyoro Wilds map, east of the Niptai Mountains, look for a grapple and climb start point as shown in the screenshots below.

At the top of the first climb is a small camp, with a gap to squeeze through to the right and another climb up to the left. Climb up to the left to find the Sumi-e overlooking the valley.

Oshima Coast

There are two Sumi-e in the Oshima Coast region. The two are highlighted in the overview map below.

1 – Imperial Sakura, Matsumae Residences
2 – Lost Flight, Atago Rice Fields

Imperial Sakura Sumi-E

The Imperial Sakura Sumi-E is in the southern part of the garden at Matsumae Residences in the Oshima Coast region.

Lost Flight Sumi-E

For the Lost Flight Sumi-e, travel to the Oshima Coast Entrance in the far north of Oshima Coast. Then, go west, along the map’s border, across the rice fields. Soon, you will see the Sumi-e pillar ahead.

Teshio Ridge

There are two Sumi-e in the Teshio Ridge region. The two are highlighted in the overview map below.

1 – Frozen Moment, east of Black Dye Merchant
2 – Howling Pack, west of Sentinel Forest

Frozen Moment Sumi-E

The Frozen Moment Sumi-E is east of the Black Dye Merchant at Teshio Ridge.

Howling Pack Sumi-E

The Howling Pack Sumi-E is in the northern center of the Teshio Ridge region, west of the Sentinel Forest.

Tokachi Range

There are two Sumi-e in the Tokachi Range region. The two are highlighted in the overview map below.

1 – Free Skies, Ohara Plains
2 – Season’s Colours, Tomamu Marshlands

Free Skies Sumi-E

The Free Skies Sumi-E is in the north of the Ohara Plains in the Tokachi Range Region.

Season’s Colours Sumi-E

Travel to the Duelling Tree south of Tomamu Marshlands at Tokachi Range. The Sumi-e is just a few steps north of the Duelling Tree and the waterfall.

Yotei Grasslands

There are four Sumi-e in the Yotei Grasslands region. The two are highlighted in the overview map below. There are two additional ones during “A Memory of Impression” at the home location.

1 – Chasing Frogs, Lake Jozan
2 – Mount Yotei, Blooming Ridge Shrine
3 – Plum Crane, Shikotsu River
4 – Careful Pincers, Southern Coast

Careful Pincers Sumi-E

This Sumi-E is down at the Southern Coast of Yotei Grasslands, right by the water. Draw a pincer with your controller pad.

Chasing Frogs Sumi-E

Travel to Lake Jozan, in the northwest of Yotei Grasslands. In the same location as the Bounty: Soma the Condemned, the Sumi-e mat is west of the cave entrance, on the southern shore of the lake.

Father Sumi-E

This Sumi-E is drawn during “A Memory of Impressions” at the home location in the Yotei Grasslands.

Ginkgo Tree Sumi-E

This Sumi-E is drawn during “A Memory of Impressions” at the home location in the Yotei Grasslands.

Mount Yotei Sumi-E

Fast travel to the Blooming Ridge Shrine in the northeast corner of the Yotei Grasslands. From the entrance of the shrine path, go left up the hill, and you will find the Mount Yotei Sumi-E facing the mountain.

The Plum Crane Sumi-E is west of the Home location in the Yotei Grasslands, by the water.
