The Great Basin is an expansive lake located on the western side of the Akiva map. To navigate its waters, you must complete “The Scavenger” Questline, which will unlock Temmin Wexley as an Expert, enabling you to upgrade your speeder for water travel. Within the Great Basin, there are nine treasure locations, containing a total of thirteen chests waiting to be discovered.
1. The Bolthead
The Bolthead Hideout is situated in the southwest region of The Great Basin, just beyond the empire-controlled island known as “Excavation Site 12.” This location is also where Kay can discover the Trans-Accelerator Blaster Key Part. To access it, head to the beach marked by the ruins of ancient pillars. Upon arrival, you’ll encounter a parked speeder and be attacked by droids. Begin your ascent from the opposite side of the beach, where you’ll find a grapple point to climb higher.
At the top, you need to cut some bars using the Fusion Cutter from Gedeek to proceed. If you haven’t acquired it yet, continue with the main story. Once you get behind the bars, you’ll encounter the large swinging mechanism. Utilize the two overhead grapple points to swing across and reach the area above the beach where the droids are located.
On the opposite side, gaze towards the entrance of the Bolthead Hideout. To your right, you’ll notice handlebars and rippled walls that you can climb to reach the cave entrance, which features a door adorned with three red lamps above it. This indicates that Kay must activate three units to gain access to the treasure. The first unit is hidden behind a rock situated above the door. Use your “Power” Blaster setting to shoot it, revealing the first power core. Remember to find the right angle for your shot.
I start by tracing the cable to the right down to a ledge, where it can be shot from the position illustrated in the screenshot below.
Return to the door and locate the third power core. Its cable leads to the left. When you scan the ledge, you’ll notice the cable extends to the right. There’s an overhead grapple swing point you can use to reach that area. While hanging from the rope, adjust your swing direction towards the cable. Once on the other side, you can scan for the power core and take your shot from there.
You can now swing back and collect the treasure.

2. Smuggler Cache 38
South of Excavation Site 12 lies a small island adorned with ancient ruins. Disembark from your speeder and ascend to the summit. The access point is located on the west side. Once you encounter thorns, look above for a grapple point. Ascend, navigate around the ruins, and use the next grapple point to climb even higher. The final stretch leading to the campsite involves standard climbing.
At the top, you’ll find a wall that can be shattered using the “Power” blaster. Once you break through, you’ll discover a grapple point that leads down to Smuggler Cache 38.

3. Excavation Site 12
The large island situated in the southern part of The Great Basin is known as Excavation Site 12, currently occupied by the Empire. Here, you will discover four treasure chests, one of which contains the NL-02 Charge Emitter—a crucial component for crafting Temmin Wexley’s Electro-Shock Prod, designed to take down elite enemies.
3.1 Imperial Terminal Tent
The first treasure chest is located in the northernmost tent, which houses the Imperial Terminal. This tent also features a computer terminal that allows you to deactivate the cameras and alarm.

3.3 Cave – Turbo-lift Area
The Cave is situated behind the red energy barrier at ground level. To access it, you can either disable the nearby data port or use the “Cave Entrance Keycard,” which can be obtained from an officer patrolling near the tent with the Imperial Terminal.
Inside the cave, summon the turbo-lift and take it down. Once you reach the bottom level, you’ll discover a central area featuring another Energy Barrier, along with platforms on both the left and right sides. The box is situated just to the right as you exit the turbo-lift.

3.4 Cave – Behind Energy Barrier
The Energy Barrier within the cave is heavily secured. Begin by scanning the area. You’ll notice that a power cable runs from the Energy Barrier to a generator. Target the Power Core to deactivate the generator, allowing you to enter the room and claim the final Treasure Container. Additionally, you can find an “Imperial Bunker Keycard” atop one of the boxes situated in front of the Energy Barrier.

At this location, Trader Namda Eaakee offers a selection of items in exchange for materials. Two key items of interest are the AF-2 Cypher Key, obtainable for 6 Durasteel, 4 Polycarbonate, and 2 Helicyclic Gears, and the Actuating Diffuser Module – Blaster Key Part, which costs 1500 Credits and 10 Direct-Energy Circuits. The AF-2 Cypher Key unlocks the Slice Kit Upgrade in the “The Veteran” abilities menu.
5. Smuggler Cache 70
Smuggler Cache 70 is located at Witch’s Finger, on the eastern coast of The Great Basin, near Kassina Outpost at Mount Selasa. You’ll encounter a few bandits camped at the base of Witch’s Finger; take care of them first. Afterward, follow the path upward and use the overhead grappling point to swing over to the west. This next step is crucial: continue along the western path, avoiding the rippled climbing wall to your left. Don’t climb there. Instead, proceed until the path ends, then drop down to discover Smuggler Cache 70.

The Entangled Island, the largest in the northern part of The Great Basin, features a cave-like corridor that runs through its center, serving as the main access point. However, be vigilant, as bandits are known to frequent the area. Inside the cave, watch for an overhead log-grapple point that will lift you to a ledge where a treasure chest awaits.

10. Rover’s Lair
Rover’s Lair is a secluded hideout located in the northeast region of The Great Basin. It serves as the hiding place for the Expert Key Part: Flux Compressor. You will need it for the Scavenger Ability “Ion Smoke Bomb”. To access Rover’s Lair, you can use a ramp at the shore, which allows you to jump in with the speeder.
Continue along the path from the other side of the ramp until you reach a rippled, climbable wall that is obstructed by several rocks at the top. Use the blaster’s “Power” setting to break the rocks and then climb up. Once there, follow the path and utilize the overhead grapple to swing toward a destructible wall. Just as you did with the rocks, shoot this wall with the “Power” setting. Proceed along the path behind the wall until you encounter another wall. Climb all the way to the top to reach Rover’s Lair, where you will find a single door concealing treasure. However, it requires four power sources to unlock.
First, use the blaster’s “Power” setting to shoot the rocks on the left and the wall on the right. This will uncover all four power sources, each with varying burn times. From left to right, target the second core first, followed by the fourth, then the first, and finally, the weakest one, which is the third. This sequence will grant you access to the Treasure room.
