Crimson Desert: Lord Amidst the Ruins Questline

Starting the Quest

Complete the Black and White Story Questline to start Chapter 5. House Serkis then has the “Lord Amidst the Ruins” questline for you. On the map, you can see a snowflake symbol.

The questline has two quests:
-> Broken Trail
-> King of the Fallen Kingdom

Quest description:
“A soldier has asked for help looking for Middler. Help with the search and check the situation.”

Broken Trail

Meet Williem’s Lieutenant

There is a small white house west of Hernand town. Talk to the soldier sitting by the bonfire.

Search for Williem in Ivynook

If you have completed the Greymane Companion quest A Rumor in Ivynook, you should know where to go.

For everyone else:
Ivynook is in the northwest of Hernand Town. A group of Wandering Freeswords is fighting at the back of Ivynook. The cutscene starts as soon as you get closer.

Go to the Abandoned Castle Ruins

The Wandering Freeswords will tell you that you should check the abandoned castle ruins in the west of your current location. Follow the winding road west. This is Staglord territory. It’s going to be cold, and the path is littered with Staglord minions. Wear warm clothes that offer Ice Resistance.

Search for Williem’s Traces

Hints:
– While in the Staglord area, collect their banners. All of them together will make a good amount of money.
– Turn on the lanterns and fires wherever you can to keep warm. Have your fights near the fires to avoid getting the ice debuff.
– There is an Abyss Nexus fast-travel point not far after the castle entrance.

Williem’s traces are not far from this Abyss Nexus, near the castle’s outside wall. There is a group of deceased Hernandian guards. Williem is barely alive and hiding below one of the corpses.

Light the Stone Lantern

Return to the path leading deeper into the ruins. Here, you can light two stone lanterns to summon Saigord the Staglord.

King of the Fallen Kingdom

Saigord the Staglord, king of a forgotten kingdom, has gone mad in solitude in his ruined castle. Defeat him to prevent further casualties.

Dodge his attacks, then hit him a couple of times to dodge his attacks again. He has three health bars, interrupted by cutscenes.

After defeating the Staglord, House Serkis will ally with the Greymanes.

Rewards:
1x Staglord’s Shield
1x Abyss Artifact

Before Leaving

There is a hidden treasure room at the abandoned castle ruins. Follow the stairs up behind the Staglord’s throne. At the top, you can go down to a room that has a barred crawlspace. “Stab” the boards to gain access to the treasure chest, a couple of copper pouches. Look around closely. There is also the Fallen Kingdom’s Rapier.
