Crimson Desert: First Step to Rebuilding Quest Walkthrough

Starting the Quest

The quest will start after meeting Marius again in the back alleys of Hernand.

Quest Description:
“Rebuilding the Greymanes will require a reliable and powerful ally. Go meet with Marquis Serkis.”

Speak with Marquis Serkis

After meeting Marius and agreeing about a fresh start for the Greymanes, Kliff wants to meet Marquis Serkis at his manor in the west of Hernand. The cutscene will start when you approach the group at the entrance.

Follow the Soldier

Before following the soldier after the cutscene, notice how the lantern glows? That’s the sign for another memory in the area.

Use “Blinding Flash” by the chair at the end of the table to learn how Serkis is contemplating an appropriate reward for the Greymanes. It’s called “Oakenshield Manor Reception Room.” If you don’t know how to use “Blinding Flash”, look it up in the Guides section of the menu. It’s Guide #110: Blinding Flash – Concentrate Light.

After learning “Oakenshield Manor Reception Room,” you get an option to quickly access this memory with the menu button. Otherwise, put on the Visione Helmet and play the “Oakenshield Manor Reception Room – Clues” Memory Fragment under “Hernand” (Guide #314: Memory Fragments).

Let’s follow the soldier now. Exit the building, and he will wait outside to escort you to Howling Hill. Call your horse and follow again on horseback when prompted. They will exit the town in the southwest, ride past the Goldleaf Trading Post, cross the river to the right, and go uphill to the right, to finally arrive at Howling Hill.

Speak with Marshal Middler

Keep following the path ahead to meet Marshal Middler. You will be introduced to Damiane, who will be staying with the team at Howling Hill. She joins Kliff’s team as a “Comrade”. You can switch between her and Kliff in the Character menu (press the arrow up on the controller). This will complete the quest, and “A Fresh Start” begins.
