Children of the Woods is a multi-part faction quest tied to the Pororin Forest Guardians in Crimson Desert. After forming your alliance and speaking to village chief Polan, you’ll receive the Traveler’s Log – a book that sends you across the continent to track down four missing Shai children hidden in some of the game’s most remote locations. This walkthrough covers every step, from starting the questline through to claiming your final reward.

Starting the Questline
Complete the Quest: The Unreachable Village, and Authorized Access to form an alliance with the Pororin Forest Guardians. You can then enter Pororin village and talk to the children in the south to start the quest.
This is a Hernand -> Pororin Forest Guardians -> Children of the Woods Faction Quest.
Restrictions – Listen to the Chief’s Request
You will now meet the village chief, Polan, for the first time. You will receive the “Traveler’s Log”. With it, the quest is complete.
Open the book in your inventory and read every page. This will reveal four more quests in the Children of the Woods questline:
3 – Mystic Falls
4 – Beautiful Desert
5 – Wyvern’s Cradle
6 – Desert’s Edge Maze
Mystic Falls – Find the First Shai
The Mysic Falls are between Hernand and Pailune. The whole area is built with the mysterious Abyss bricks that you can find at Abyss Nexus locations.
You don’t have to solve the puzzle here. Just head to the quest marker area and look for this small cave entrance. Also, look for an Abyss Stone symbol on the minimap.
Inside the cave, a stone block blocks the inner entrance. As you learned when going to Scholastone, enter focus while standing in front of the stone and perform a focused Force Palm on the stone for it to disappear. Enter the cave to find the first shai.
Beautiful Desert – Find the Second Shai
The second Shai is at Redtree Forest by the Red River in the very east of the map.
This shai is not hidden. They are just standing at the base of the red tree.
Wyvern’s Cradle – Find the Third Shai
The Wyvern’s Cradle is in the southwestern corner of the Delesyia continent in Crimson Desert. The shai is standing in the covered section just north of the wyvern nest. Look for a stone staircase leading up to the shai.
Desert’s Edge Maze – Find the Fourth Shai
The Desert’s Edge Maze is in the far north of Demeniss, just north of the Hexe Sanctuary from Chapter 9. Travel above the maze and drop down where the quest marker is. You will land in an area with explosive mushrooms. Here, look for a hole in the ground and drop down to find the shai in a small side cave.
A Token of Friendship
Return to Polan, the chief of Pororin Village, to receive your reward. A Pororin Petal Hat.

How do I start the Children of the Woods quest in Crimson Desert?
You must first complete The Unreachable Village and Authorized Access quests to form an alliance with the Pororin Forest Guardians. Once inside Pororin Village, talk to the children in the south to trigger the quest. Village chief Polan will then give you the Traveler’s Log.
