Crimson Desert: Brightening the Spirits Questline Walkthrough

Starting the Questline

You’ve learned how to sell a stolen wagon at the Wagon Fence and completed the “Strongbox on Wheels” questline for the Greymane Faction. This will start the “Brightening the Spirits” questline with Gloomy Gray as the first quest of three.

Quest description:
“Andrew and Naira are arguing again. See what the argument is about.”

Gloomy Gray: Talk to Naira

In the first quest of the Brightening the Spirits questline, Glooy Gray, Naira, and Andrew are arguing by the main tent at Howling Hill. Speak to Naira to proceed. She would like to give you a fresh look and teach you how to make dyes. Follow her on horseback.

They will ride to the Dyehouse, southeast of Hernand town, where you will learn how to craft dyes in the follow-up quest: Vibrant Dye.

Vibrant Dye: Craft a Dye

The second quest in the Brightening the Spirits questline will teach you how to craft a dye. Naira has already given you some ingredients. All you need to do now is go to the cauldron to interact with it. Unfortunately, the cauldron is not at the Dyehouse anymore, but at Hernand town, in the building between the Provisioner’s Shop and the Tannery.

If you have already found and learned an alchemy recipe and wondered where to find a cauldron to brew it, this is it. Your own personal brewing house in Hernand town. Of course, there are more cauldron locations to be found in Crimson Desert. There is also an Alchemy Formula you can find here: Haiden’s Lesser Elixir and a Wine Recipe on the bench by the door.

The cauldron is just by the door. Use it like a campfire to brew drinks, dyes, elixirs, and even special items like Palmar Pills. You are looking for the “Bright Red Dye”. The ingredients for it are in your inventory.

Vibrant Dye: Use the Crafted Dye

You have now crafted the Bright Red Dye, and it is in your inventory. Just click “use,” and the dye will disappear from your inventory. Return to the Dyehouse.

Talk to Theoric and select the piece of your equipment that you would like to dye. Then you have different areas on the equipment that can be dyed. In my case, the helmet has three. I decided to dye the side straps of the helmet brightly red. Choose the colour and go back one step. You can now dye the equipment. For me, it is the triangle button.

This will complete the “Vibrant Dye” quest and the last quest in the Brightening the Spirits questline, “A Fresh Color” starts.

A Fresh Color: Talk to Naira

Return to Naira at Howling Hill and talk to her. She’s waiting at the shrine near the Dragon Head mailbox. This will complete the quest and the “Brightening the Spirits” questline for the Greymane Faction, and “Chance to make a Fortune” starts.
