Crimson Desert: A Fresh Start Quest Walkthrough

The A Fresh Start quest in Crimson Desert has you helping rebuild the Greymanes’ camp at Howling Hill. While the objectives are simple, some players may get confused when multiple tasks are given at once and can be completed in any order.

In this guide, you’ll learn how to complete all camp objectives step-by-step, including moving sacks, driving in stakes, pushing the wagon, and raising the banner. Follow this walkthrough to finish the quest quickly and continue rebuilding your base.

Quest Description:
“Complete the camp that will be the Greymane hub. Lend the workers a hand to finalize the construction.”

The sacks were very confusing. So, there is an area marked with an “X” and a smaller yellow circle by the broken shelves. There are also 3 orange dots on the minimap. Those three dots are the three sacks that need to be transported to the small yellow circle of the shelf.

Orange dots -> Yellow Circle (broken shelves).
Any other sacks won’t work. It needs to be the one with the orange dot.

To drive in the stakes, you will need a mallet. If you don’t have one, there is one at the table near where the people work on the building.

Then, use the mallet as if you would when felling a tree. Equip it as a tool and hit the four stakes on the nearby tent. There is a guide in the game menu (Others -> Guides -> Life #417: Mallet). You need to hit all four stakes 3 times to complete this section.

For the wagon, there is one filled with straw. It needs to go under cover, but rocks are blocking the way. Use the pickaxe like in mining to smash the rocks. You can then push the wagon into the tent. Just lean into it.

Raising the Banner, as the last point, is clear. The banner is lying on the floor and needs to be raised. Use “Nature’s Grasp” when prompted to do so. You will then pick up the banner. Put it into the nearby banner socket. Press the “place” button, then interact with the socket to place the banner. You will get a prompt to place it. If you stand too close to the socket, you won’t get the prompt.

-> Next: “Reward for Their Sweat.”
