Blades of Fire: All Chest Locations at the Iron Castle

Below you will find the overview map of The Iron Castle with the chests highlighted.

1 – Courtyard Ladder

In the courtyard, there is a ladder on ground level that takes you down to a basement staircase. Down is this chest.

2 – Tower East Basement

On the ground floor of The Iron Castle, to the east, you’ll find a gate with two levers that must be operated simultaneously with Adso to open. Just before reaching this gate, there’s a narrow gap on the eastern side. Squeeze through it and take the staircase down to reach this chest.

3 – Tower South At The Top

Climb to the summit of the southern tower. Near the Daggers Seneschal, you’ll find a ladder leading downward. At the bottom, a chest awaits.

4 – Tower South At The Top 2

Also at the top of the southern tower, there is a hole in the ground where you can drop down to find a chest.

5 – Western Torture Chambers

From the entrance, head west. In the western corner of this area, descend the stairs to reach the castle’s torture chambers. Here, you’ll be ambushed by a group of Vexxers. At the base of the chamber, you’ll find a gate crank lying on the floor – but one of the Vexxers will snatch it and flee. Give chase, defeat the thief, and reclaim the crank to open the gate. Beyond the gate, descend further into a room containing a chest and a swarm of Rotspawn.

6 – Aecides Chapel Anvil

If you haven’t already collected it, return to the crank and take it with you. Continue along the path beyond the chest to discover another mechanism that requires the crank. This time, Adso will step into a cage, allowing Aran to lift him to a higher area. Follow Adso upward, using the ladders provided, to reach the Aecides Chapel Anvil. At the top of the tower, you’ll find another chest waiting for you.

7 – Soul Rune: Statue Key

Return to Aecides Chapel to retrieve the Statue Key with a charged, Soul Rune imbued weapon. This key will open additional gates in the castle.

With the key you can now unlock the gate to this chest at the bottom level of the chapel

9 – Eastern Light Rune: Troll Room

There is a Light Rune inscription at the bottom of the eastern tower. Make sure to have a Light Rune on one of your weapons and present the weapon with L2 on PlayStation 5. If you don’t have a Light Rune yet, follow the story until the Blue Lady starts to sing and offers you a Light Rune.

Enter the next room to find the Sealed Dungeons Forger’s Anvil. Continue to fight the Rotspawn in the next room. Make sure to first target their nests. After their defeat, head up the stairs and turn right, where you can drop down into a corridor below. Here you can open one of the gates leading back to the Sealed Dungeons Anvil, but also advance to a room with two Trolls and this chest.

10 – After the Troll Room

From the previous chest, look for a crank/lever on the floor and use it to open a nearby gate. Follow the path until you get to a metal gate, where you can squeeze through to the other side. Here, on the other side, is a chest.

11 – Northern Light Rune Start

To find the chest, head to the area where Aran lifted Adso in a cage during the story to access Aecides’ Chapel. At the base of the first ladder, you’ll find the Light Rune.

Open the passage and follow the path to the first gate. Here, before you go through it, you can climb a ladder and drop down to the right to find this chest.

12 – Northern Light Rune Warden

Continue to follow the path through the first gate and to the left, where you can reach the top of the western tower, where a fight with a Royal Warden awaits, together with a chest.

13 – Northern Light Rune Lever

From the previous chest, return to the area where the Queen’s Soldiers were. Look for a lever to open a gate, which will provide easier access to the Iron Castle Entrance Anvil. You’ll find this chest at the bottom of the wooden stairs.
