“Beginnings” marks the inception of the Star Wars Outlaws game adventure, serving as the initial Main Quest. The journey commences at “The Broken Hoof” Cantina in Canto Bight, situated on the Planet Cantonica, introducing the main characters Kay and her loyal companion, Nix.
After assuming control of Kay at the outset, head to the Cantina for a chat with Bram, who not only runs the establishment but is also Kay’s associate. The moment plays out with a Sullustan Mercenary presenting a tablet to Bram, alluding to a fresh mission. Spotting the tablet on the bar, Kay inquires if the mission is meant for her. Bram denies it but passes her a broken Data Spike.
It transpires that Bram acts as her handler. Concerned that Kay is working solo without a crew and venturing into risky areas, he advises her to take on a simple, low-risk job. Despite declining his offer, she inquires about the task he received from the Sullustan Mercenary. He dismisses her request, and she continues on her journey.

MISSION OBJECTIVE
Canto Bight – Cantonica
“Everyone in Canto Bight will be focused on the Canto Cup race, which is the perfect time for a job. Kay knows that the Sixth Kin keep identicards in their safe at Club Tarsus. She will need one to finally hitch a ride off-world.”
1. Repair the Data Spike
Take control of Kay as she exits the Cantina. Preeban’s Shop, indicated by a yellow mission marker on the Hud, is where you can repair the Data Spike. Along the way, keep an eye out for opportunities to earn money. Collect any items with a “Blue Hand Symbol” – these are “Valuables” in your inventory and can be sold at shops, identified by a “Credit” sign on the Hud.
Utilize Nix, your faithful companion, to steal from individuals across the galaxy. On the PS5, simply press the L1 button to view the surroundings from Nix’s perspective. When a stealing opportunity arises, the “Steal” interaction will appear.
To complete this mission step, track the yellow mission marker on the HUD and proceed to Preeban’s shop. Reluctantly, he will repair Kay’s Data Spike, requesting 150 credits in return.
2. Acquire 150 Credits to pay Preeban
Walk around and look for valuable junk (the blue hand symbol). As mentioned before, you can steal from certain individuals. They walk around and look a bit different than the other civilians.
Speak with Valek, situated in front of a shop. He will provide funds for a bet and offer hints on the likely victor. Adjacent to the shop’s entrance lies a datapad on a table. Upon engaging with the datapad, it will reveal that the triumphant contender is “smaller than the rest.”
Visit the “Broken Hoof” cantina and seek out tables adorned with holograms. Locate a tablet for placing your bet. Survey all the contenders, each accompanied by details of their weight and size in centimeters. Select the competitor with the most diminutive measurements.
Search for valuable items to acquire and trade and steal some more if you have to. Return to Preeban with 150 credits.
3. Find a Way into Club Tarsus
Preeban repairs your Data Spike. From now on you can pick locks. There is a little box that you can practice on next to Preeban. Follow the tutorial and practice until you know how to do it.
The mission marker guides you to Club Tarsus’ entrance, but two bouncers block your path. Disregard them and proceed along the mission marker’s route to the left. Seek out a gate that allows you to crouch underneath and access the other side, where you will have to pick the first lock with the data spike.
Proceed through the door and follow the sole path leading to a quaint courtyard. There, utilize Kay’s Grappling Hook Tool to ascend overhead.
Once you reach the top, keep an eye out for the distinctive yellow climbing rails above. Similar to other games, areas you can climb are typically marked with a specific color. In the world of Star Wars Outlaws, these areas are highlighted in yellow. Grip the yellow rails above and ascend to the right to clear a fence. You can descend on the opposite side.
Beyond lies merely a locked door and an open window. Assume the role of Nix using L1, peer through the door, and engage with the door switch. Nix will ascend through the window and unlock the door.
Upon entering, you will find yourself in Club Tarsus’ bathroom. Access the club by using the bathroom door, and you’ll step inside the venue.
4. Steal the Forged Identicard in the Office
Navigate through the Club to discover your path. Descend a vibrant blue staircase and follow the guiding yellow marker on the Hud. Reach a balcony with a view of the club’s central area. Proceed left and locate a security guard patrolling a descending staircase. Acquire the “Club Tarsus keycard” from him by stealing with Nix.
Descend further down the staircase. The security guard won’t object. Proceed to the central area of the club and engage with the bartender. She will provide a clue on bypassing the guard named Vrell stationed at the door to a restricted area. His primary interests lie in money and his recent acquisition, the T-85 speeder.
You can now approach Vrell by the door in the club’s central area. If you possess sufficient credits, you may offer him a bribe, as he favors money and speeders. Alternatively, you can choose to bluff, prompting him to depart if your credit balance is insufficient.
Gain access to the restricted area using the pilfered “Club Tarsus Keycard.” Proceed stealthily to incapacitate a guard as instructed. At the end of the corridor, locate the office door. Once inside, unlock the storage vault adjacent to the desk with the data spike.
Enter the storage room and pick up the only item there is to take.
5. Escape from Club Tarsus
This segment of the quest covers the tutorial on combat techniques in Star Wars Outlaws. Overcome the initial attackers and exit the office via the sole accessible door. Proceed to the end of the corridor, unlock the door using the panel, and ascend the staircase along the designated path.
Continue along the path until you arrive at a courtyard featuring an elevator with distinctive yellow sides, signaling it can be climbed. Ascend the elevator to the balcony, where you’ll discover a door leading to a locker room.
In the locker room, the game guides you on using Nix for enemy takedowns. Proceed to the next room, a storage area, where you’ll learn about stunning foes. Encounter three enemies here, then venture forward until you face the fourth one – a sign you’re headed in the right direction.
Search for a yellow-marked vent in this area. Once found, open the panel and enter, crouching to navigate through the ventilation system until you reach the city.
6. Go Back to the Broken Hoof
Back in the city, this quest step is focusing on returning to the safety of the “Broken Hoof” Cantina. Look for areas to jump and climb the rooftops. Once inside the cantina, follow the mission marker to Kay’s room, where Bram confronts her about her behavior. To help her get out of trouble, he will hand her the quest he received at the start of the quest from the Sullustan Mercenary.
