In the Side Quest “Bad Blood,” Bozhena, the herbalist, is worried because her daughter Pavlena hasn’t returned home after selling baskets in Troskowitz. Follow this simple guide to find Pavlena and bring her back to her mother.
1 – Accept the “Bad Blood” Side Quest
After completing the Main Quest and being healed by Bozhena, Henry tries his luck in Troskowitz. After returning to Bozhena, the herb woman, she will tell him, that her daughter, Pavlena went missing.
2 – Search Pavlena’s Room
Pavlena’s room is located right above where Henry stayed while being treated by Bozhena. Look for a hat on the stool—it’s an important clue. Investigate it to continue the Side Quest.
3 – Ask about Pavlena in Troskowitz
Travel to Troskowitz, the town Henry visited after being healed by Bozhena. This is where the castle is located. Find the merchant’s wife near the merchant’s house and ask her about Pavlena. She’ll be sitting out front.
4 – Ask the Woodcutters about Pavlena
The woodcutter Henry has to talk to is in the east of town. Woodcutter Dushko is either at his house or at the woodcutter hut in the northwest of Troskowitz.
5 – Search Roman’s House
Dushko, the woodcutter, informs Henry that Roman and Pavlena are a couple and advises him to search Roman’s house. You can request payment before agreeing to help. To enter Roman’s house without being seen, use the ladder at the back. Inside, check the table—it’s set for two, and the food is fresh.
6 – Return to Dushko
Return to Dushko and tell him what Henry learned. Dushko will suggest checking a clearing, where Roman and Pavlena often spend time.
7 – Find the Clearing that Dushko mentioned
Go to Roman’s house and find a small stream. Follow the stream until you come to two large boulders. Walk between the boulders and continue straight ahead until you reach a small pond.
8 – Search the Crime Scene
The key evidence at the crime scene is the bloody stone and the blood trails leading into the forest. You can also collect a few items from the area—no one will notice they’re gone. Follow the blood tracks to find a corpse on the ground, with a pig feeding on it.
9 – Ask the Pig Herder about the Corpse
Follow the voice uphill. A Pig Herder is calling out for one of his pigs. Talk to him about the corpse.
10 – Confront Straw the Farmhand
The Pig Herder saw Straw the Farmhand at the crime scene. Straw can be found at the nearby farm. In Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, there are several ways to deal with this situation. I chose to fight him, get a confession, and take him to jail.
11 – Find the Gorge where Ota is holding Pavlena
Ota is keeping Pavlena at the Gorge in the south. There’s a small entrance to the west, but a guard dog blocks the way. I managed to get past the dog and climbed the ladder to get inside.
12 – Save Pavlena
There are several ways to resolve the conflict here. I convinced Ota to let Pavlena go when Henry and Pavlena stayed quiet. Ota chose to believe Henry, but Pavlena had other plans and ended up killing him.
Before speaking to Pavlena, take some time to look around and loot Ota first. This way, Henry can walk Pavlena back, and she won’t be disappointed.
13 – Return to Bozhena the herb woman
Fast travel will only work here when accompanying Pavlena. So it would be a good idea to go with her. Talk to Bozhena to get the options for the next quest step. She wants Henry to kill Jakesh. I chose to try to persuade him to make peace. You may choose something else…
14 – Persuade Jakesh to make peace with Bozhena
The side quest step will vary based on the choices you made in the conversation. Jakesh owns the farm in the southeast of Troskowitz. I convinced him to make peace by threatening his life.
15 – Tell Bozhena about Reconciliation with Jakesh
The outcome depends on the choices you make. I delivered Jakesh’s money with the good news and turned down Bozhena’s offer to keep half.
