CASE START
Basim returns to Baghdad and finds the Hidden One’s office. This is the very first case in the game and Basim will receive it just when he enters the office and talks to Ali.
MISSION TEXT
“Before his disappearance, Ali and the Rebels were helping Nur uncover more about the Order’s influence over Baghdad.”
The Investigation consists of three sub-cases that have to be solved to be able to solve the main objective – rescuing rebel leader Ali ibn Muhammad:

“Nur mapped the factory district of Shari’, north of Harbiya”
Beshi is Ali’s second in command and he works in the Upper Harbor. When you track this objective, you will get a mission marker on the map.
As you get closer to the mission marker, it will disappear and Basim has to find Beshi himself. He’s not alone though. Call your eagle and let it circle the area. The eagle can slow time. Enough to focus the yellow mission circle on the screen so that it gets smaller – focusing on Beshi. That’s how you can find him and get another mission marker to his location.
Basim heads over to Beshi’s location. Beshi is rallying men, Basim waits for him to be finished, then talks to him. Beshi’s men were captured by Caliphate soldiers.
Bashi is asking Basim for help to free the rebels. There are three mission markers on the map for the rebels. Only when they’re free, Basim will be able to continue with the investigation.
While sneaking around at the harbour, look out for the commander with the key. With it the three rebels can be freed. One rebel is inside a house near the docks, one rebel is on board of the boat and the third rebel is outside at the docks.
Regroup with Beshi after Basim freed the rebels. The location is marked on the map. Talking to him will close this case and open up another investigation called “AL-GHUL“.
Another clue will be added to the Ali ibn Muhammad Investigation called “Ali was separated from the captives.”
FIND NUR’S CONTACT
CASE TEXT
“Nur mapped the factory district of Shari’, north of Harbiya”
Fuladh found a map in the Bureau. Roshan suspects Nur may have frequented an area known for Rebel sympathizers. Basim has to go to Shari’s district on the map.
By the time Basim freed the rebels and talked to Beshi, Rosnan at the Bureau has already more information about Nur’s Contact. This will add another clue to the contract that Nur made contact with a Merchant in Shari’.
Now you finally get a mission marker to Meet Nur’s contact at the dyeing factory. At some stage the mission marker disappears and Basim has to send his eagle up to scan for the merchant. Focus in on the yellow circle to find them. Meet the merchant at the location on the map below.
The mysterious merchant turned out to be Dervis, Basim’s former “handler”. This will open up DERVIS’ SHOP, where Basim can return rare valuables to.
KHURASAN GATE GUARDHOUSE

“Ali was taken to the Khurasan Gate Guardhouse.”
After talking to Dervis, Basim finds out that Ali was taken to the Khurasan Gate Guardhouse. There is a mission marker on the map. That’s where the Gate Guardhouse is.
When you get close enough, the mission marker changes to “Search the Outpost” and “Eavesdrop on the guards“. There is a pile of hay Basim can hide him to Eavesdrop.
Basim will learn about “Prisoner Records”. The next task is to find them. According to the marker, they’re on ground level, inside the scribe’s quarters. The scribe is sitting not far away from the door and has the key. With the key, you can enter the building. The list of prisoners is on the table.
With all clues now found, regroup at the Harbiyah Bureau.
RESCUE ALI IBN MUHAMMAD

“Ali was captured and is being held in the Damascus Gate Prison, where he’s being questioned about the Hidden Ones.”
Finally, we have all the case clues together to Find Ali, starting with meeting Fuladh at the mission marker on your world map.
Send up your eagle to get a first glipse with Eagle Vision. There are three ways to breach the prison. The most obvious one is sneaking. Secondly, you can bribe the nearby merchants with a merchant favor token to cause a distraction. The third one is to speak to a person outside the prison. To find this person, use Enkidu, your eagle, again and focus on the yellow circle. The person will then be highlighted with a magnifying glass like in the screenshot below.
When you talk to him, you will learn that he’s one of Ali’s men. Give him a power favor token to get his help. He will deal with the guards.
You can now climb up the back of the outside prison wall to get to the top. Be aware that there a plenty of guards on the roof and inside the prison. From the roof, you can climb inside the prison. Use assassin focus a lot to see guards and objectives. Unfortunately, your eagle companion won’t work inside the prison.
. If you sneak you can blend in with the prisoners. In one of the backrooms is a prisoner on the floor, being tortured by guards. Talk to him and he will tell you that there is a man being tortured in the basement. You will get another quest marker to guide your way to an area with a lot of prison cells.
Continue to follow the marker down to the basement. There are two staircases. One will lead to a locked door. If you are at the locked door, take the other staircase. There is a barred door that you can open on the other side to advance to the basement.
Work your way down and you will see Ali, the rebel captain in blue and a guard in red. The story continues when you kill the jailer. You now get the prison keys and can open all those locked doors.
Next stop: Guard’s quarters. Follow Ali. He knows the way to the upstairs guards’ quarters. Careful, there are plenty of security guards behind this door and they will come rushing down when you open it.
You can now follow the objective marker directly since you have the prison keys and you don’t have to avoid locked doors anymore. Enter this door as shown on the screenshot below to get to the Guard’s quarters. After the cinematics, you just have to escape the prison, and the whole Investigation is finished.
