In Highway Police Simulator, you take on the role of a Highway Patrol officer. Your background, either “Police Family” or “Street Kid,” affects your gameplay. Choosing “Police Family” gives you better relationships with other officers, but criminals will be more wary of you. On the other hand, choosing “Street Kid” helps you connect better with criminals, but civilians will be more suspicious of you.
No matter what you choose, the action begins right away. The first story mission, “The Prisoners’ Escort,” serves as a complete tutorial to prepare you for what’s ahead. This is the full walkthrough.
Late for Work – Reach the Prisoner Transport
The mission starts in the car, where your partner criticizes you for being late to work. The driving controls are straightforward and can be customized in the game’s settings menu. Below is a screenshot of the default keyboard controls:
The route for “The Prisoner’s Escort” story mission is highlighted on the mini-map in the bottom left corner of your screen. Simply follow it at your own pace. Be careful—your vehicle will take damage if you collide with other cars. However, as long as you reach the endpoint, the damage doesn’t affect the mission outcome. That said, the GPS can be unreliable at times, occasionally sending you on detours. Plus, other cars on the road tend to switch lanes unpredictably, making dodging a bit tricky.
The Prisoner’s Escape
The action starts immediately as prisoners escape from a transport vehicle on the highway. An ambulance is on the scene to care for the injured, but it’s up to us to figure out what happened. We’re tasked with speaking to five individuals, who are clearly highlighted and easy to locate:
Garry Ross, a fellow police officer, will approach you and offer his car for you to use, as yours is damaged. Your next priority is to check on your partner, Nataly Cordero. The paramedics, Lucia Gayoso and Colman Eddison, by the ambulance will assure you that everything is under control. Finally, speak with Yuusuf Ahmad from the crime lab—he’s asking you to take charge of the investigation.
Crime Scene Investigation
The Crime Scene Investigation mission in “The Prisoners’ Escort” in Highway Police Simulator is detailed and involves several steps. First, you need to investigate the scene, take photos of the accident, create an accident sketch, and then write a report on the PC in your car. During your investigation, you can also perform a good deed that will have consequences. For example, you’ll find a man in a blue shirt lying on the ground near the prison bus. Interact with him, then inform paramedic Lucia Gayoso about his condition. Keep an eye out for opportunities to do good deeds during missions.
Investigate the Scene
The crime scene includes the area in and around the prison bus.
Walk around the area and look for the following items: A brown baseball bat lying on the ground next to the bus tires. Interact with it to enter inspection mode, where you can view the bat from all angles. The only notable detail is the word “Nolan” printed on it. You’ll also find a biker glove on the other side of the bus, near the injured man in the blue shirt.
Take Photos of the Accident
The next step in the investigation is to take photos of the accident. Simply right-click with your mouse to bring up the photo frame, as shown in the screenshot below.
Create an Accident Sketch
Next, create an accident sketch. Head to the police car located to the left of the prison bus, marked by a car icon on the minimap. Go to the car and interact with it to access the “Rex Database System” on the computer screen. For now, only two tabs are available: “Sketch” and “Report.”
Complete the sketch as shown in the screenshot. If you’re unsure, you can exit and return at any time.
Write a Report
To write the report, switch to the “Report” tag after completing the crime scene sketch. Make sure to talk to everyone at the crime scene before starting the report. You can always double-check if you’ve spoken to everyone before clicking the “Send Report” button. At first, I thought I’d have to write it myself, but all you need to do is click “Write Report,” and your alter ego will handle it for you.
Report to the Chief
The police car, “Grant Patron,” where you wrote the report, is now yours. Get in, drive to the Highway Patrol HQ, and meet the chief. The destination is already marked—just follow the white outline on the minimap. Once you arrive, this location will be unlocked as a Fast Travel point.
