About The Phantom Smith
Administrator: The Phantom Smith

A former APAC technician who came to Australia as part of their advanced expedition. The Phantom Smith’s old mentor is currently engaged in research in South Fort Knot (F6), having previously worked with Tarman to develop the DHV Magellan’s navigation systems.
After learning that Tarman’s lost right hand enables him to read the flow of the tar currents, the Phantom Smith theorised that the connection between body and soul – between this world and the other side – could be applied mechanically. This development may well prove useful in
helping to explain ghost mechs’ mysterious behaviour.
The curious machines, which are sometimes found washed up on the tar are ideal subjects for the Phantom Smith’s research, which is expected to shed light on the relationship between tar current anomalies and chiral network troubles. It may also unravel some of the mysteries of ghost mech technology.
Rewards: The Phantom Smith
Each Knot City and Shelter has a five-star reward system, granting rewards and upgrades with every star reached. Gain more reputation by delivering goods. APAS firmware upgrades, bandwidth increases, and Material Allotment increases are granted with every star reward. Shelters additionally offer Sam a place to rest at the 5-Star level.
Porter-to-Porter Advice
Struggling to find enough cargo to boost Sam’s reputation with The Phantom Smith? There’s a simple solution. Open the Ring Terminal menu and head to the “Orders” section. From there, navigate to the “Search” tab and select The Phantom Smith under “Delivery/Report Destination.” Confirm your search, and you’ll receive a list of available Order Locations for The Phantom Smith. It’s a quick and convenient way to make a Porter’s job a whole lot easier.
1-Star Reward
1 – Chiral Shock Cannon

A non-lethal weapon that fires a burst of chiral radiation at a carefully tuned frequency. This allows it to penetrate walls and other obstacles without destroying them, while striking and disabling human targets on the other side. The chiral shock cannon must be fixed to the ground
before firing, making it best suited for long-range engagements where you are certain of the enemy’s position.
The chiral shock cannon can also prove useful in battles against BTs. Be aware, however, that gazers will notice the noise it produces when fired.
The shock cannon was developed off the back of the Phantom Smith’s analysis of flotsam from the Beach.

2-Star Reward
Multirocket Launcher

A rocket launcher that fires guided projectiles. It can lock onto a maximum of five targets and fire one small homing rocket for each.
The rockets are highly effective against BTs, will inflict a great deal of damage to mechs, and lethal damage against human targets. Double-check what you’ve locked on to before pulling the trigger.
This is a powerful weapon, but also extremely large and unwieldy – it is not suited to being carried for long periods.
3-Star Reward
Santa Hat

Donned by Father Christmas himself, this festive hat slightly slows the rate at which stamina is depleted when worn. Santa hats are a common sight once the holiday season gets underway.
4-Star Reward
Lightweight Multirocket Launcher

A rocket launcher that fires guided projectiles. While the standard multirocket launcher is known for being unwieldy, this lightweight (LW) model can be transported as a compact piece of cargo.
It can lock onto a maximum of five targets and fire one small homing rocket for each.
The rockets are highly effective against BTs, will inflict a great deal of damage to mechs, and lethal damage against human targets. Double-check what you’ve locked on to before pulling the trigger.
5-Star Rewards
1 – Custom Hologram: The Phantom Smith

A Hologram of The Phantom Smith can now be selected under any Structure Customisation.
2 – Patch 51: BT Raia

A 1×1 backpack patch that allows the wearer to express their individuality. Serves as proof that you have reached the maximum connection level with the Phantom Smith.
