About The Ghost Hunter
Administrator: The Ghost Hunter

A statement from the Ghost Hunter:
“The word ‘ghost’ does not necessarily mean the spirit of a dead person. Originally, it simply referred to anything supernatural. If you ask me, that is where the world’s real truths are to be found. Its real secrets. It’s where we might solve the mystery of the Death Stranding.
“In days gone by, I used to visit sites of paranormal activity myself, making inquiries and conducting investigations. I don’t go outside much anymore, though, not with the Armed Survivalists and the like rampaging around out there. And now everyone’s talking about a new type of BT…
“That’s why I’m so glad Drawbridge showed up when they did. If these new BTs are the real thing, then we need to check them out and take care of them. I’m not capable of such a thing, but you are, Sam. Australia needs your help – so does all of humanity, for that matter.”
Drawbridge Q-pid
The Ghost Hunter shelter is only available when the Drawbridge Q-pid is turned off (you will get access to the Drawbridge Q-pid at the end of the story). To turn it on and off, open the Ring Terminal and select System. There you have a menu item called “Switch the Drawbridge Q-pid On/Off.
Rewards: The Ghost Hunter
Each Knot City and Shelter has a five-star reward system, granting rewards and upgrades with every star reached. Gain more reputation by delivering goods. APAS firmware upgrades, bandwidth increases, and Material Allotment increases are granted with every star reward. Shelters additionally offer Sam a place to rest at the 5-Star level.
How to Earn Reputation
Reputation building with Mr. Impossible operates differently compared to most other shelters. It’s similar to the Adventurer. There are 5 Sub-Orders that need to be fulfilled to raise the Ghost Hunter’s reputation to 5 Stars. To receive those Sub-Orders, you have to deliver cargo until you reach a certain threshold to trigger the order.
1 – Sub Order 109 & 110: Headless Riders
While Sub Order 109 is a simple delivery from the Chronobiologist to the Ghost Hunter, Sub Order 110 needs certain conditions to be met before you can fulfil it. To find the Headless Riders, rest until evening and grab a Tri-Cruiser. You can find garages at DHV Magellan or East Fort Knot (F4). Next, head to the marked location on the map. There, you’ll see a red glowing Auto-Paver. Approach it, and you’ll be taken to an aerial racing course where you’ll need to fight mechanical riders. Equip a weapon and use R1 to shoot and eliminate them. Once done, return to the Ghost Hunter.

2 – Sub Order 111: Rescue a Child Crying in the Bushfire Zone
The crying child in the center of the bushfire zone just west of the Ghost Hunter is a Lyrebird. Approach it and pack it into a box. Then, return to the Ghost Hunter. To deal with the bushfire, bring a Tar Cannon.

3 – Sub Order 112: Uncover the Mystery of the Moving House
The Moving House area is just north of the Mechanic shelter. Of course, it can only be a BT catcher area. Fight and defeat the BT, then scan the area for the three Rusty Chiral Cargo Boxes. Pick them up and deliver them to the Ghost Hunter.

4 – Sub Order 114: Save F8 from a Voidout
The last sub-order of the Ghost Hunter will be given just before reaching the 5 Stars and after connecting all of Australia to the chiral network. Travel north of Terminal Fort Knot (F8) to fight and defeat the BT to avoid a Voidout.

1-Star Reward
1 – Black Drift by Woodkid – Music

2 – Porter Suit: Woodland

A suit designed specifically for making deliveries. S-size cargo can be attached to the shoulders and the hips. Its pattern will camouflage you in muddy or mossy environments.
3 – Rocket Box [MP Warheads]

A container of powerful rockets that can lock on to as many as eight targets simultaneously.
After locking onto one or more enemies, throw the rocket box toward them to activate the rockets, which will launch from the box in midair to home in on their targets.
Rocket boxes can only be used once, but can easily be carried as pieces of cargo and pack enormous firepower.
The MP warheads they are armed with will non-lethally neutralise human targets, inflict corrosive damage on mechs, and damage BTs.
3-Star Reward
Phantom Gas Grenade

A grenade that releases a special gas made from condensed tar.
Once inhaled, the gas will separate a person’s soul from their body, immobilising them and blocking their senses, including the ability to feel pain.
Some people have expressed an interest in using the gas as a general anaesthetic, but the risks of doing so are not yet fully known.
4-Star Reward
1 – Large Grenade Pouch

An additional grenade pouch that can be attached to your backpack. It is twice the size of an ordinary grenade pouch, but has triple the capacity. Storing thrown weapons in pouches like this saves space for other attachments.
2 – Patch 50: BT Kheir

A 1×1 backpack patch that allows the wearer to express their
individuality. Received as a token of gratitude from the
Ghost Hunter.
5-Star Rewards
1 – Low Roar by Low Roar – Music

2 – Custom Hologram: The Ghost Hunter

A Hologram of The Ghost Hunter can now be selected under any Structure Customisation.
3 – Patch 47: BT Gigas

A 1×1 backpack patch that allows the wearer to express their individuality. Serves as proof that you have reached the maximum connection level with the Ghost Hunter.
