Chronobiology is the study of internal biological rhythms. Our human body clocks cause us to wake in the morning and feel sleepy in the evening. Many animals naturally hibernate in the winter, and some marine creatures follow the ebb and flow of the tides. All are examples of chronobiology in action.

Since the Death Stranding, however, the tar currents and tides of the Beach have also been observed to exert an effect on our body clocks. The field of chronobiology has therefore greatly expanded, with the Chronobiologist at the forefront of that work.

Once a scientist in East Fort Knot (F4) conducting research into the internal rhythms of cryptobiotes and other newly discovered organisms, the Chronobiologist is now a member of APAC’s science team. To further her research, she has moved her base of operations to an area of high chiral density.

She also suffers from twenty-one-minute syndrome.

Rewards: The Chronobiologist

Each Knot City and Shelter has a five-star reward system, granting rewards and upgrades with every star reached. Gain more reputation by delivering goods. APAS firmware upgrades, bandwidth increases, and Material Allotment increases are granted with every star reward. Shelters additionally offer Sam a place to rest at the 5-Star level.

Cryptobiote Roulette – Sign

Sign that cryptobiotes are very fond of. It will spin around when you approach, producing various types of cryptobiote. Continual use will reduce the rate at which cryptobiotes appear. No more than five of these signs can be placed at once.
