Description
Styx gamble backfires when Wren discovers he can speak directly to the Flux. Tension spreads through the crew, but Styx’s composure – and Wren’s uncertainty – buys him time. Even so, her warning is clear: across all the centuries Orc shamans have revered the Flux, no one who’s absorbed Quartz has ever escaped its price.
Shards of Quartz at the Empire Wall
The Undergutter Gem
“A Quartz shard vanished into the sewers after a prison heist. No one ever saw the thief again. Whatever’s down there did.”
The best starting point is the Harlow’s Shop. Climb to the roof and look up to see the grapple path up a pillar. The screenshots below show the pillar from Harlow’s Shop and Styx looking back to Harlow’s shop from the pillar.
Like that you can easily reach and unlock the Sewers Balloon station.
Climb the stairs all the way to the top to find the sewers entrance.
The sewers are bug infested. As always with bugs: Stay calm, move slowly, don’t step on loud things and don’t bump into them. Throw bottles to clear the way. First, move from window to window. They don’t go there, then look for a grapple point deeper in.
Grapple and climb the wall up at the other end. Climb some more where the closed metal gates are to reach a gap in the brick wall. On the other side, the roaches are grouping near the Quartz shard.
To get rid of them, drop down to the gate and open it with the lever. Then, throw a bottle so they run outside of the gate. Close the gate. You can now absorb the shard.
The Garrison Job
“Next Quartz on the line for Styx: a shard set for delivery, stashed somewhere inside the garrison. Getting to it might take more than sneaking past a few boots – especially if they’re not the only ones watching.”
1 – Reach the Garrison
Travel to the Zeppelin’s docks. The garrison is the high structure next to it. The access point is an open window you can grapple to. It leads into a staircase.
There is a door you can take to head deeper into the lift area. Enter the room with a fireplace and the big guard. Poison him by spitting into his drink, then extinguish the fire and climb up the chimney. From here you can use a crack in the wall to reach a big, oval window. Climb up there to the inside of the lift.
Here you can get to a grapple point to the left where you can reach a crack to climb. Keep climbing this wall until you see the ledges of the wooden pillar. Use those next.
From the wooden pillar, you can now reach the ropes. Maybe it’s time for a manual save now. Cross over to the other wooden pillar, using the ropes.
Climb up the ledge of this pillar, then continue using the crack to the right.
Finally, use the blue banner grapple point on the other side, and climb up the wall using the crack. You will arrive at the top.
The area is heavily guarded. Throw a bottle to distract the guard standing in your path, then you can enter the floor space and move around in there.
Exit at the other end towards the garrison, and sneak to the next underground hiding spot to move ahead. You have now officially reached the Garrison.
2 – Find the Lift Logbook
For the Lift Logbook, enter through the window to the right when coming from the heavily guarded lift area. There is also a locked door leading to the same room.
Enter this room and cross the next one. It has an armoured guard in it. Exit on the other side into a stairwell. Head up and enter the next room that has a crawlspace. The Lift Logbook is in this room on the table.
3 – Find the Stamp
The stamp is on a table in the mess hall just above the office. Exit the office through the other door and take the outer staircase to the top, where you can use a grapple point. At the grapple point, use the extinguished chimney to slide down into the kitchen.
Deal with the cook and poison the fruit bowl. You can now sneak into the mess hall to get the Stamp.
4 – Submit the Falsified Document
To submit the falsified document, you have to go to the closed off reception/counter on the ground floor. There are two guards standing there when you arrive. As soon as you have the stamp, they will patrol the area, giving you a slot to sneak in and drop the book on the counter.
5 – Hide in the Lift
Now it’s time to head to the lift. Just exit the room and you will find a blue glowing hiding spot. Head up to the Balloon Fast Travel Point. The shard is in the room next to the map table.
The Yard Shard
“Further up the Wall, another shard keeps the giant crane running – lifting stone, metal, and misery to build the next wing of the prison. But take away its power, and the whole machine grins to a halt. And something tells Styx that the Empire’s plans doesn’t include that kind of delay.”
Start at the Worker’s Lift Fast Travel Point. And look up from where you had to pull one of the levers for the Worker’s Lift Quartz. There is a platform right next to a grapple point. Use it to climb higher up to the construction site.
Climb up the beam, then look for a second platform and grapple to it. From here, you can grapple deeper into the structure.
Climb up towards the water wheel and all the way to the top, where the Quartz is.
Once at the top, Styx realises that he needs to stop the water wheel to access the Quartz. To do so, follow the glowing chains to the adjacent building and crouch inside. Note: There are two levers. One for the Water wheel and one for the engine.
Distract the two guards by throwing sand on the torch and head upstairs. Take care of the two guards (there is a bag to poison). Notice that there is a lever (the one for the engine) but you have to stop the Water Wheel first. Climb through the window to the tunnels, where you can traverse to the other side.
Find the room with a water wheel view. It’s on the same level as the drawbridge lever. Pull the lever here. There is also a Thief emblem on the table.
The water wheel will now stop. Return to the other lever to stop the engine. You can drop and use the drawbridge for faster access. With the mechanism stopped, you can go and absorb the Quartz shard.
Shard of Quartz at Akenash Ruins
The Reunion Rubble
“A group of Dark Elves is holding a discreet little auction, looking to offload one of their rare Quartz shards to the highest bidder. Tempting target, sure – but snagging it will force Styx to cross paths with someone he’d much rather leave buried.”
Travel to the Akenash Ruins’ Old hideout. This time, the hunt goes past the bridge, where Styx hunted the crow to in the last Quartz hunt. This time he can grapple, which should make it a bit easier. There is a Zeppelin docked just above the bridge.
Pass through the bridge area (where the shard crow still is). There is a grapple point near the crow.
You can avoid the mutated goblins. Look for cracks you can use to climb further up. They have mutated and will explode when killed. You can still lure them towards the exploding mushrooms by throwing a bottle.
Unfortunately, the mutated elves can smell you when you get too close. There is a courtyard with a mutated elf. Use the grapple point above and drop down to the dark room next to it. Keep using those bottles in combination with the mushrooms.
Now you can climb up the center pole and reach higher ground.
Advance from here. The target is the Zeppelin at the top of the ruins. From this courtyard filled with corrupted elves, you have to reach the crawlspace by the wall on the other side of the center pillar.
After the crawlspace, you will encounter invisible goblins. Turn on Amber Vision to see them. This area has a wooden structure in its center, which has to be crossed.
You can climb up the wall above the crawlspace and cross over at the top.
Keep using those grapple points on the other side. There will be non-corrupted elves that the top. You can grapple to the left side, left from the stairs.
You can enter here, deal with the Elves and head upstairs to open a metal gate with a lever. Alternatively, there is also an overhead crouch space.
Keep heading up, where you can use a wooden platform hanging on a rope to cross over to an overhead wooden platform.
Now you’ve reached the Zeppelin.
The shard inside the cabin requires a key. Go to the cabin on the other side of the Zeppelin and read the note on the table.
The note says something about meeting Lyssril, who has the key. It’s above the Zeppelin dock. To get there, cross over to the other side and deal with the Elves. You can then climb the pillar up to a rope. At the top, take the passage to the left to climb into the building.
A metal gate is keeping you from reaching the meeting. Follow the corridor away from the gate, where you can climb the wall to reach the top of the metal gate.
The key is in the center of this room. Steal it, then return to the Quartz shard to absorb it.
Shards of Quartz at Turquoise Dawn
A Quartz on the Tracks
“Still chasing Quartz, Styx returns to the Wall. One shard’s just sitting there, boxed up in a wagon, waiting to be shipped. But with a little help, it might just take a different route.”
The description says that this Quartz is at the Wall, but of course it is at Turquoise Dawn at the Supply Docks Fast Travel Point. Just look down from the arrival point and you will see the box with the Quartz shard inside a box on the level below.
There are a couple of levers in this area. One is at the cart with the Quarts. Two others are along the train tracks. Use the lever at the Quartz cart to start the trip. You will see that you will soon have to open the nearby gate with another lever. Pull the lever and follow the nearby stairs up, where you can crouch through a crawlspace to reach a cargo bag. Drop it to free the Quartz from the cart and to reach it.
The Turquoise Diamond
“Locked in the captain’s cabin of a Zeppelin at Turquoise, a shard harvested from orc lands waits for its next move. It’s a prize the colonizers don’t plan on losing – but fate might have other ideas.”
The location of this Quartz shard should be clear: It’s on the big Zeppelin at the Supply Docks. The captain’s cabin is the one at the bottom front of the Zeppelin.
I did my approach using the grapple points, ending up on the crane just above the Quartz room. You can then clean the top deck for breathing space.
The cabin’s entrance is blocked with a metal gate, but there are crawlspaces you can use to the left and right of the gate to get inside.
This Zeppelin is a 1:1 copy of Styx’s Zeppelin. Use the crouch spaces and hiding spots as you make your way towards the back and downstairs.
The Quartz is inside the room at the back, when coming down the stairs. Sneak past the guards, lockpick and enter. The shard is locked away in the room. First, extinguish the fire for a fast escape. Then use Amber Vision to find and interact with a book on the bookshelf.
You will then get two targets to spy on above you. Enter the fireplace and climb outside. The targets to spy on are in the room at the other side of the ship. There is a crawlspace below the stairs to crouch inside. It’s in the same room as the Bear Rune. Hide under the table and start the spying interaction.
One key is hanging on the guards’ belt, the other one is in the cockpit above. I went for the cockpit option. Sneak inside, steal the key hanging near the controls and the Thief Emblem on the table. Hide underneath the table until they go back to the front and escape. Return to the Quartz shard to unlock and absorb.
The Orc Siege Spoils
“A shard locked away in a fortress powers ballistas aimed at the orc village right in front of them. It’s well-protected, sure – but nothing ever stays where it’s supposed to, does it?
The last Quartz shard in the list at Turquoise Dawn is at the Western Barricades. The best starting location is the Supply Docks. The shard is in the building below the Zeppelin there – past the Sawmill. You can unlock the Broken Bridge Cave – Werstern Camp on the way there.
Cross over to the Western Barricades from there.
Work yourself down inside the building. The Quartz shard is at the bottom – you can see it through the metal grates from the top floor. You can use a rope from the top floor to slide down to the shard.
Send the lift up from there as prompted by pulling the lever.
Unfortunately, the shard won’t be moved straight to the top, just one level above, where you need to pull another lever. There is a chandelier you can drop onto the big guards to make it a bit easier. The shard will be transported to the top after pulling the lever here. Just reach it, pull the lever and absorb.
