“Failure to Communicate” is a Starfield Miscellaneous Mission that you pick up as soon as you enter the Denebola System – northeast of Alpha Centauri and east of Cheyenne.
1. TALK TO ALBAN LOPEZ ON DENEBOLA I-A
Mission text:
“Someone named Alban Lopez is sending a distress call asking for help from LIST. I could drop by and investigate.”
Fly to the Denebola System and land on Denebola I-A on the landing site called “Lopez’s Farm”. You have to walk a bit to get to Alban Lopez.
2. REPAIR THE LOPEZ COMMUNICATION SATELLITE
Mission text:
“Alban Lopez has a communication satellite that needs to be fixed. There are probably Spacers there. Once I fix it, Alban will contact me with more information.”
You need to go back to orbit and fly to the “Communication Satellite”. You have to get rid of the Spacers attacking you before you can approach the Lopez Satellite to 500m to repair it.
3. REPAIR THE WEN COMMUNICATION SATELLITE ORBITING DENEBOLA III-A
Mission text:
“I fixed the Lopez family’s satellite. Now I have to fix the rest of the families satellites in the system: the Bandas, Lemairs, and Wens. The Spacers will probably have ships there to stop me.”
Set course to the Wen Communication Satellite orbiting Denebola III-A. No Spacers here. Just approach the satellite to 500m and interact with it.
4. REPAIR THE BANDA COMMUNICATION SATELLITE ORBITING DENEBOLA III-B
Mission text:
“I fixed the Lopez family’s satellite. Now I have to fix the rest of the families satellites in the system: the Bandas, Lemairs, and Wens. The Spacers will probably have ships there to stop me.”
Set course to the Banda Communication Satellite orbiting Denebola III-B. Spacers will attack here. Take care of them first, then just approach the satellite to 500m and interact with it.
5. REPAIR THE LEMAIRE COMMUNICATION SATELLITE ORBITING DENEBOLA I
Mission text:
“I fixed the Lopez family’s satellite. Now I have to fix the rest of the families satellites in the system: the Bandas, Lemairs, and Wens. The Spacers will probably have ships there to stop me.”
Set course to the Lemaire Communication Satellite orbiting Denebola I. Spacers will attack here. Take care of them first, then just approach the satellite to 500m and interact with it.
6. REPORT BACK TO ALBAN LOPEZ ON JACQUELYN’S SHIP
Mission text:
“I fixed the four families’ communication satellites. The leaders of the three surviving families are meeting on Jacquelyn Lemaire’s ship. Alban Lopez wants me to go there to pick up my pay.”
Fly to the “Family Rendezvous” point in space at Denebola 1, dock and board. Then talk to Alban.
7. (OPTIONAL) GET JACQUELYN LEMAIRE TO JOIN DEFENSE PACT
Mission text:
“Alban Lopez wants to have all the LIST families join a Defensive Pact to take care of the immediate Spacer problem (and beyond). I need to convince Chanda Banda to join. Getting Jacquelyn Lemaire to join would be even better.”
The more the merrier! Let’s get to Jacquelyn first. You can persuade her, pay or just let her be.
8. GET CHANDA BANDA TO JOIN DEFENSE ACT
Mission text:
“Alban Lopez wants to have all the LIST families join a Defensive Pact to take care of the immediate Spacer problem (and beyond). I need to convince Chanda Banda to join. Getting Jacquelyn Lemaire to join would be even better.”
Talk to Chanda Banda so he joins.
9. TALK TO ALBAN ABOUT THE DEFENSE PACT
Mission text:
“Alban Lopez wants to have all the LIST families join a Defensive Pact to take care of the immediate Spacer problem (and beyond). I need to convince Chanda Banda to join. Getting Jacquelyn Lemaire to join would be even better.”
Go back to Alban to talk to him.
10. ELIMINATE SPACER SHIPS ORBITING DENEBOLA II-A
Mission text:
“The LIST families now have a Defense Pact. Alban Lopez has asked me to take out two Spacer ship contact groups, and then report back to him at his farm.”
Fly to Denebola II-A and fight the Spacer ships.
11. ELIMINATE SPACER SHIPS ORBITING DENEBOLA III
Mission text:
“The LIST families now have a Defense Pact. Alban Lopez has asked me to take out two Spacer ship contact groups, and then report back to him at his farm.”
Fly to Denebola III and fight the Spacer ships.
12. REPORT BACK TO ALBAN LOPEZ ON DENEBOLA I-a
Mission text:
“The LIST families now have a Defense Pact. Alban Lopez has asked me to take out two Spacer ship contact groups, and then report back to him at his farm.”
Land on “Lopez’s Farm” and talk to Alban.
13. CLEAR OUT SPACER SHIPS ORBITING DENEBOLA II
Mission text:
“Alban Lopez found that the Spacers are using a Derelict Starstation as their base. The plan is to eliminate their ships then board the Starstation and put an end to them for good.”
Fly to Denebola II to destroy the Spacer ships.
14. CLEAR THE SPACERS FROM THE RETROFITTED STARSTATION
Mission text:
“Alban Lopez found that the Spacers are using a Derelict Starstation as their base. The plan is to eliminate their ships then board the Starstation and put an end to them for good.”
Dock on the “Derelict Starstation” and clear them from Spacers. Talk to Alban when you’re done.
