1. Veiled Edge Banners
Veiled Edge Banners play a dual role as essential save points and efficient fast-travel markers in the dynamic realm of Rise of the Ronin. While their placement varies, these pivotal markers are strategically positioned throughout the game world. Notably, when encountered within Public Order or Unruly Area Events, the Veiled Edge Banner activates automatically, streamlining your journey and gameplay experience.
1.1 – Maita Castle
In “Rise of the Ronin,” the Veiled Edge Banner located at Maita Castle is a crucial point of interest, especially during the story mission “Follow Your Blade Twin.” Positioned high within the castle’s confines, this banner not only serves as a significant checkpoint but also plays a pivotal role in the game’s fast travel system.
1.2 Center Village
Visit the central village for the largest Public Order / Unruly Area event in the region. Encounter the elusive Fugitive Mutsurokuro the Beast Master and discover a hidden Treasure Chest. Overcome the intruders to automatically unlock the Veiled Edge Banner.
1.3 Wakamiya Hachimangu Shrine
Secure the third and final Veiled Edge Banner, cleverly placed atop a mountain to the east of the map. Begin your journey from the central village, following the southern route towards a broken bridge. Cross using either the glider or an alternate path, leading you directly to the base of the Wakamiya Hachimangu Shrine, prominently situated on the mountain’s summit. Navigate the small, winding path up to the far side of the broken bridge, where a climb awaits to claim the Veiled Edge Banner. This achievement also unlocks the Wakamiya Hachimangu Shrine Landmark, marking a significant milestone in your adventure.
2. Public Order
“Public Order” collectible events – also referred to as “Unruly Area” challenges – represent zones in a region where hostiles have established a presence. Your mission is to restore peace by vanquishing all adversaries, thereby forging closer bonds with the local populace. These critical locations can be easily pinpointed from afar by recognizing columns of smoke billowing from the afflicted area. Notably, the Yoshida-Shinden region boasts two distinct Public Order / Unruly Areas.
2.1 Camp in the Northeast
In the northeastern region of the map, neighboring Yoshida-Shinden and Nakamura, lies a camp designated as a Public Order / Unruly Area that needs to be liberated from Bandits. The telltale sign of its location is the distinctive pillar of smoke rising from it. Within this camp dwell a quartet of bandits – a strong and formidable adversary among them.
2.2 Central Village
Explore the expanded Public Order / Unruly Area event in Maita’s central village, featuring a significant challenge with eleven bandits and four formidable enemies. Among these adversaries is The Fugitive Mutsurokuro the Beast Master, indicating many of the village’s foes are beasts. Overcome these challenges to clear the area and earn the Veiled Edge Banner, which allows for fast travel and signifies the restoration of public order in Maita.
3. Fugitive
“Fugitive” Collectibles are quests where you track down and defeat a fugitive.
Maita’s only fugitive is hiding in the center village of the map, together with 10 other bandits they took over the village which has to be liberated in the Public Order / Unruly Area event. Mutsurokuro the Beast Master – the Fugitive – can be found in the biggest, main building in the village, guarding a Treasure Chest.
4. Landmark
A significant landmark within the ‘Rise of the Ronin’ game serves as a pivotal location in the region, inviting players to simply approach and explore it.”
4.1 – Maita Castle Ruins
Progress through the primary quest, ‘Follow Your Blade Twin,’ until you reach the objective of visiting the Maita Castle Ruins to secure specific blueprints. Upon arrival at the ruins, your visit contributes to achieving the 100% collectibles completion milestone in the game.
4.2 – Wakamiya Hachimangu Shrine
The Wakamiya Hachimangu Shrine is located to the east on the Maita in-game map. When you ascend to claim the Veiled Edge Banner, this landmark will be automatically marked as visited.
5. Shrine
To begin your journey to the unique Maita shrine, head to Wakamiya Hachimangu Shrine near the Veiled Edge Banner in the eastern part of the in-game map. Look for a grapple point on the landmark building of Wakamiya Hachimangu Shrine to access the rooftop. Glide across the canyon and grapple onto the platform on the opposite side. Ascend along the path until you spot another grapple point above you. Swing gracefully from point to point until you reach the summit with the shrine.
6. Cats
The cat collectible is an actual cat, not a statue to search for. While traveling the region, listen carefully for meowing – a sign you’re nearby. Approach the cat and give it a pet.
6.1 Wakamiya Hachimangu Shrine
While you’re visiting the Wakamiya Hachimangu Shrine in the east of the Maita in-game map of Rise of the Ronin, check out the broken bridge. There is a cat lost at the end of it, close to the Veiled Edge Banner.

6.3 Waterfall Cat
A timid Calico Cat lounges by the waterfall at the southwestern corner tip of the game map. Approach with caution, as it is quite shy. Proceed with a slow crouch until you are near enough to gently pet it.
7. Treasure Chests
Discover the significant Treasure Chests scattered throughout the region, must-find loot waiting to be uncovered.
7.1 Central Village
Locate the first treasure chest at the center of the map, within the Public Order / Unruly Area event. Guarded by The Fugitive, Mutsurokuro the Beast Master, it’s found in the main building of the village. Successfully defeating the guardian allows access to the chest’s contents.
7.2 Wakamiya Hachimangu Shrine
On a hill near Wakamiya Hachimangu Shrine, there’s a Treasure Chest. Start at the Veiled Edge Banner nearby. Use the grappling point on the shrine’s roof to climb up. Once on top, you’ll find a Shrine Collectible. But keep going. From the collectible, spot a platform with a white flag, then look across the canyon to see another wooden platform – that’s where the chest is. Before you glide over, make sure to spot the kite in the air; it marks a grapple point for a safe crossing. Below is a video guide for the whole path.
7.3 Maita Castle
Navigate across the wooden bridge near the Maita Castle’s Veiled Edge Banner to find a building concealing a treasure chest. Exercise caution, as bandits stand watch over the loot. Defeat them to secure your prize.
