In Ghost of Yotei, Atsu can play nine Shamisen Songs. Eight of these can be collected and used in the open world to trigger specific effects, mainly for locating items or places. Playing a song causes the wind to guide you in the right direction, and the path is also marked on your map. You can fast travel to the marked path to reach the location or item more quickly.
Game+ Note:
Start a new game with Game+ to find a “Mysterious Merchant” near Atsu’s Home. Here you can buy two more sets of Armour (Oyuki’s and Ina’s), plus weapon kits, armour, shamisen dyes, charms, hats, and masks. All those require “Ghost Flowers,” which can be earned by replaying the game.

“Songs can lead a lost wanderer where they are meant to go. Find the music of Ezo in its nature and people to learn new Shamisen Songs. Play these songs, and the wind will guide you to your goals.“

This is the song Atsu can play from the very start. It has no special effect.
Song of Revenge
Effect:
Play this song to discover Yotei Six Camps where Altars of Reflection can be found.
Find the Musician’s Camp at the southeast of Huranui’s Rest Inn in the Tokachi Range region. Give a donation and talk to him. This starts the “Those who Have” mission. Follow him to the campfire, start it up, and learn the song.
Song of Shrines
Effect:
Play this song to discover Shrines where Charms can be found.
I found a settler at a camp, and he asked me if I liked music, prompting me to come up with this song.
Song of Soma
Find and defeat the Bounty: Soma the Condemned to find this song. It has no special effect.
Song of Spirit
Effect:
Play this song to discover Bamboo Strike locations.
Complete the Familiar Location at Master Heijiro’s Garden (Master of Shamisen).
Song of The Ainu
Effect:
Play this song to discover lost Ainu Items.
To learn this song, you first have to meet the musician at the Ainu Musician’s Camp at Yubari Lake in the Tokachi Range region. Help him to complete his instrument by retrieving a stone from the Mountain Pool in the northwest.
He will then ask you to meet him in the Cukpet Hills at the Nayoro Wilds to learn the song.
Song of The Wolf
Effect:
Play this song to discover Wolf Dens where your bond with the wolf can be increased.
Complete 4 Wolf Dens to receive this song. The wolf will howl after freeing the trapped wolf and you will learn this song.
Song of Vanity
Effect:
Play this song to discover Vanity Gear that can customise your appearance.
West of the Red Crane Inn, north of the Crimson Forest and its Traveller’s Rest in the Teshio Ridge region is a Shamisen Practice Spot to learn this song.
Song of Well-Being
Effect:
Play this song to discover Hot Springs, where max Health can be increased.
Across the Rumoi River, north of the Lone Jaw Coast at Isikari Plain, is a Shamisen Practice Spot to learn this song.
Shamisen Dyes
A Path of Flowers

Liberate all Hideouts, Outposts, and Farms from the Nine Tails in Teshio Ridge. Then you will have the option to meet Master Enomoto at the Red Crane Inn. He will lead you outside to talk to your friends. Talk to Oyuki to receive this Shamisen dye.
