Markers of Plague Quest Walkthrough

1 – Meet Hakon at the Hospital

Head to the hospital, but stick to the rooftops to steer clear of the Howlers. When you arrive, you’ll find the main entrance blocked. Facing the sealed door, turn to your left and locate the bus Hakon mentioned. Enter the bus and use it as a path to access the hospital.

2 – Follow Hakon/Craft Lockpicks/Unlock the Doors

After meeting Hakon inside the hospital, follow him through the building. Thankfully, there’s a marker to guide you – without it, getting lost would be all too easy. Along the way, Hakon will pause at a locked door, where you’ll receive the lockpick blueprint and learn how to use it.

Lockpicking here follows a familiar mechanic: adjust one pin to find the correct position, then move the other to gauge how close you are. Once you’ve mastered this, continue following Hakon on your journey.

3 – Go Deeper into the Hospital/Follow Hakon

You enter the hospital with Hakon, where Aiden experiences another flashback. After the conversation with Hakon, follow him once more and carefully sneak past the sleeping biters. Keep an eye out for the Eye Symbol on various objects – this marks hiding spots.

As you venture deeper into the hospital, Hakon jumps onto an elevator cabin. Unsurprisingly, the elevator isn’t stable, and it collapses, taking you down a floor with it. Once again, your stamina proves insufficient to climb back up. Instead, you must descend further to locate an Inhibitor, which will help you level up your stats and continue the journey.

4 – Find a White and Green GRE/Return to the Elevator Shaft

Open the elevator cabin’s escape hatch to climb inside. After the cutscene, you’ll find yourself on the hospital floor. To reach the crate behind the blocked door, you’ll need to carefully sneak around. Keep an eye out for designated hiding spots marked with an Eye Symbol – zombies won’t be able to spot you while you’re there. Wait for the patrolling zombie to pass before moving forward.

After experiencing the flashback in the corridor, head into the room containing the GRE crate. The crate is located at the back, near the blocked door. Use the Inhibitor found inside to upgrade your stamina. Once done, unblock the door and make your way back to the elevator.

5 – Regroup with Hakon/Run Outside to the Sun

Climb up the elevator shaft and make your way to Hakon’s floor. Take your time exploring this area, as it’s filled with valuable items to loot – no need to rush, even if Hakon urges you to. Once he hands you the Biomarker, however, speed becomes crucial. Your infection leaves you with limited time to reach sunlight, so act quickly to get outside before it’s too late.

6 – Talk to Hakon/Use the Binoculars

Speak with Hakon to obtain the binoculars. Use them to focus on a Windmill, ensuring the square at the center becomes smaller. Then, repeat the process with the church located to the right.
