Auger Mine Locations
1 – Timid Kyle’s Neglected Opening
You’ll find the Auger Mine north of the Abandoned Outpost, in the Coastal Bonescape. Enter the cave below the settlement; the path inside leads to “Timid Kyle’s Neglected Opening.” Keep in mind that you can only access the Auger Mines after you’ve progressed in the story and joined the Augers at Terminus Range.
This hideout features a deep red pit at its center. When you approach the empty wall in the area, a clave will appear. Locate the clave to gain entry. Once you’ve joined the Augers at Terminus Range, the wall will turn blue and allow passage.
Go through the glyph and defeat the threshers at the end of the tracks. Next, find the barricaded mine tracks and break through them. Follow these tracks to a room with a waterfall, then jump and glide across the gap to reach the next passage.
Follow the sole passage, crouching into a room with a ladder. Climb it to reach an upper path, leading to a higher level of the previous waterfall room. From here, cross over again and crouch into another room containing a red pool filled with more threshers. The path continues behind the altar in this room, where you can destroy another barricade.
Follow the path to a stone pillar. Use it to cross to a higher passage that leads to the mine’s vending machines. Drop into the nearby hole to face Voraxis, a monstrous thresher. Defeating it completes the Auger Mine activity.
2 – The Claim
The Auger Mine is located in the same cave as Zadra’s hideout, “Zadra’s Backup Plan,” at the Dissected Plateau. You’ll find it during the story, and a fast travel point will unlock once you do.
Exit Zadra’s hideout into the cave and turn right past the Kratch nests. The entrance is right around the bend.
Inside, drop down the cave and follow the corridor into the next room to fight some more Kratch. Cross this room and continue on at the other side.
Here, you have to cross over to a metal wall to be able to reach the corridor up top.
At the other end, reach the top by jumping on the ledges. Then, use the metal wall to climb across the toxic goo-filled corridor. Cross the next room by using an overhead grapple point to reach the vending machines to fight The Backhive.
3 – The Toil of Spoiling Vis
The Toil of Spoiling Vis is the only Auger Mine in the Dominion region, at the Carcadia District.
Reaching it is a bit confusing, since the map is not helpful and ECHO-4 does not seem to find a path:
The access point to the Abandoned Auger Mine is at this location, shown below. To find it better, follow the bottom, yellow-goo pit to the south until you reach the area with the Evocarium and the tower. Climb the tower and work your way up towards the west. Once you reach the top, you will find an Order-infested area with this hole in the wall that leads to the Auger Mine entrance.
Inside, drop down the long shaft to the bottom to enter a cave with maulers. Head towards the northwest to find a passage that goes deeper into the mine. In the next cave is a rift that you can grapple to advance.
The rift will take you to the higher level of the first cave, where you can cross over to the other side using the center pillar. Follow the path to reach the vending machines and start the fight against Axemaul.
4 – Embossed Fault
To find the Auger Mine Activity, head southwest of the Grindstone of the Worthy, near the Pigeonhole Point of Interest.
Head down the corridor into the Auger Mine until you hit a big, two-level cave. Cross this cave on the top level, then take the corridor on the other side into the next one.
Here, cross the cave again and follow the path at the upper part of the cave to reach a cave with a pool and a large spine on the ceiling. From there, you can finally reach the vending machines to start the boss fight against the Skull Orchid.
5 – Trinket Crevass
You’ll find the Abandoned Auger Mine just east of the story ramp to the Fallen Crown, and north of the Society for Amateur Seismology Enthusiasts POI at the Ruined Sumplands.
Just follow the mine path downwards. In the first cave room, you’ll find a bunch of pangolins. Get through that room and into a darker, unlit tunnel that leads to a cool pool. You’ll need to jump up to higher ground there to keep going into another pangolin cave with a waterfall.
Make your way up to the main platform. From there, jump and glide into another tunnel, and you’ll find yourself at the vending machines and the boss fight area: The Rocken Roller Pangolin. Beat it to claim your collectible activity!
6 – Bittervein
The Bittervein Abandoned Auger Mine is in the far north of the Stoneblood Forest.
Follow the path to enter the first cave room with Kratch to defeat. From there, use a ladder to get to a top platform, where you can jump onto the surrounding platforms to reach the passage high up on the other side. Follow this path as well (needs to be crouched) into the second room. Here, you have to reach the top to advance. There is a grapple point you can use.
In the third room, head through the red-lit passage into a fourth room. You have to grapple and pull the hanging, square platforms to cross the room to finally arrive at the vending machines on the other side to fight Bramblesong.
7 – Whistler’s Maw
The access point for the Whistler’s Maw Auger mine is the valley just east of the Goredello POI at the Cuspid Climb region.
Go into the mine and follow the path to the first room with manglers. From there, jump onto a ladder to go deeper. Cross the next small room with miners, then clear the blocked crawlspace by destroying the boxes. In the following ice cave, head west along the ice path.
Keep following the icy path to a cave with a center platform. Jump onto the platform and grapple up to the other side, where you have to glide to the top level of the cave that has a loot box. There is a vent cover you can grapple to open up a passage. This will lead to the vending machines and the boss fight against Shadowpelt.
