Chapter 3: The Face Behind the Mask Overview

This is the second quest of five in the “The Face Behind the Mask” story block in Chapter 3.

Completing these five quests will lead to the third story block in Chapter 3: “Pioneering”.

Starting the Quest

“Traces in the Manor” is the second quest of the story block “The Face Behind the Mask” in Chapter 3. It starts right after “Return”.

Quest Description:
“There’s been no word from Naira and Andrew. Go seek them out at Glenbright Manor.”

Go to Glenbright Manor

If you have completed the Faction Quest -> Hernand Commisions ->”Ugmon’s Request”, you already knowIf you have completed the Faction Quest -> Hernand Commisions ->”Ugmon’s Request”, you already know where to go.

Glenbright Manor is not far from the Apiary in “Ugmon’s Request”. This is a “Kliff only” quest. No companions allowed. Enter the Manor and fight off the attackers.

Investigate Glenbright Manor

Naira and Andrew are nowhere to be found. There are a lot of bodies here. The items that need to be investigated are highlighted in purple on the minimap. There are a couple of items you can pick up.

On the ground floor, you can walk through the wall in the entrance hall. The wall has a painting with two Knights on horseback. Behind the wall, pick up the Glenbright Manor Basement Key.

Then, go upstairs and take the Ruby-Set Golden Dagger from the wall.

Also upstairs, to the left of the Ruby-Set Golden Dagger, is a wardrobe. Open it to reveal a Handwheel. Turn it to the right so the light shines on the big statue’s crystal. This will open a secret compartment with the Sapphire-Set Golden Dagger.

– Sapphire-Set Golden Dagger

Stay upstairs and enter the study at the end of the hall. There is a survivor here. A servant by the window. Talk to him and ask what happened here. You will learn all about tracking and use your lantern to reveal trails. When you use the lantern, the Memory: Hernand -> Clues -> Grace Manor will be shown. This will complete the “Traces in the Manor Quest”.

How to Find the Secrets in Glenbright Manor

Pick up the Glenbright Manor Key from the desk in this study.

The fireplace in the study has two slots in the mantle. Use the lantern and focus on the slots to plant the two daggers. The bookshelf next to the fireplace will move aside, revealing a secret room.

Enter the room and climb down the ladder. Here, on the floor, you will find the Cloudcart Blueprint. Unlock the nearby door with the Glenbright Manor Basement Key.

In this small room is the Alchemy Formula: Meliara’s Lesser Elixir. Since I can’t steal anything at the moment (I don’t have a mask), I leave it to this and continue with the main quest “Nonhuman“.
