The Arch of Inceptus is the Vault you’ll find in the Faidefield region of Borderlands 4. To open it, you’ll need to collect three Vault Fragments to assemble the Arch of Inceptus key. Once inside, you’ll face three waves of Order enemies before proving yourself worthy to take on the Primordial Guard Inceptus. Beat them, and you’ll earn the reward: Faster Glide Pack Regeneration.

Vault Fragments Locations
Alright, so you need to snag three Vault Fragments in The Fadefields, which is basically the southern chunk of the Borderlands 4 Kairos map. You’ll find one at the Coastal Bonescape, another at The Howl, and the last one at Idolator’s Noose. Once you’ve captured the Order Silo in each of those spots, a Vault Fragment Search Area will pop up on your map to help you out. But hey, I’m just going to show you exactly where they are right off the bat!
Coastal Bonescape
Order Silo: The Stockroom – Coastal Bonescape
The Silo: Stockroom is located in the northeast center of the Coastal Bonescape. Take out all the enemies, then head to the top of the silo and interact with the Silo Console to unlock Fast Travel and the Vault Fragment search area on your map.
Vault Fragment: Coastal Bonescape
Head to the southwestern edge of the Coastal Bonescape, better known as the Stillshore. You’ll spot the Vault Fragment sitting on a table out on the back terrace.
The Howl
Order Silo: The Kit Hole – The Howl
The Silo: The Kit Hole is in the center-south, just northwest of the Faction Town: The Launchpad. Climb to the top from the north side to capture it and unlock the Vault Fragment search zone on your map.
Vault Fragment: The Howl
You can find The Vault Fragment in The Howl region of Borderlands 4 by heading to the mountain northeast of Faction Town: The Launchpad. There’s a cave you can get into from the north side. Just pop in there, and you’ll spot the Vault Fragment at the very back.
Idolator’s Noose
Order Silo: Deep Seven – Dissected Plateau
Just a heads-up: The Order Silo: Deep Seven is in the Dissected Plateau, and the Vault Fragment is in Idolator’s Noose.
You can’t get into the Order Silo: Deep Seven from the ground. Your only way in is through “The Motherbird Node” right next door. Try the western side; there’s a wall you can climb.
Just cross the building to the east side, and you’ll spot the Order Silo: Deep Seven entrance. All that’s left is to take down the incoming Order hostiles and capture the place.
Vault Fragment: Idolator’s Noose
At Rosemary’s Reserve, located in the central east area of Idolator’s Noose, you’ll find the Vault Fragment tucked away in the crawlspace under the silos. To get there, just look for a ventilation panel you can pull off to access the crawlspace. Bonus: there’s a bobblehead right next to it!
Arch of Inceptus Vault
After collecting all three Vault Fragments, you’ll see the Arch of Inceptus Vault Entrance marked on your map. You’ll find it at the top of a hill on the western side of the Dissected Plateau, just south of “The Stubs” Point of Interest.
Just pop the Vault Fragments into the slot, and boom – the Vault Gate opens up. Head on in and interact with it to zip straight into the vault. Once you’re inside, grab the side mission to kick off your Primordial Guard Inceptus Vault adventure.
Alright, so hop on the glowing ramp to the next island. You’ve got three waves of bad guys on three different islands to clear out before you can finally face off against Primordial Guard Inceptus. Just a heads-up, the boss in that third fight has a super annoying shield. You’ll need to smash the crystals behind him to get rid of it so you can actually hurt him. After that third wave, you’ll hit a save point and find a couple of vending machines – super handy!
Then it’s time for the main event: Primordial Guard Inceptus. He’s got two forms. First, he’s a giant scorpion. You can grapple onto parts of his armor to expose his weak spots. But then he goes into this cocoon form, hanging from the ceiling and poisoning the whole floor. When he does that, grapple onto those hanging balls to get above him and just wail on his vulnerable spot up there. Good luck!
After you’ve defeated Inceptus, grapple onto the purple orb to get transported to the top left corner of the Vault of Inceptus map. There’s a yellow orb waiting in the center of the island – grab it to unlock Faster Glide Pack Regeneration. On either side of the purple portal, you’ll find two weapon chests. When you’re ready to leave, the purple portal will take you straight back to the fast travel station so you can exit.
