Mysterious Cache Treasure Hunt and All Riddle Locations
1 – Marsh’s Cache Note and Sketch Treasure Map Location
Location: The Mire Marshes – Old Marsh Encampment Shelter
Quest: found during the main quest Old Acquaintances
The overview map shows both spots of this treasure hunt: 1 is the treasure map and 2 is the treasure.
You get the treasure map during the main quest Old Acquaintances, while you look for a way into the fort. Climb the ladder up the tower to the Old Marsh Encampment Shelter campfire. In the same room, a small chest on a table holds the Marsh’s Cache Note and Sketch and 1 Wool.
The sketch shows a waterfall and a tree in the mountains, along with this note:
Marsh’s Cache Note and Sketch
I saw Walter bury something on the path. Bring a shovel. From the bridge leading to New Eden, head North, into the marshes next to the glacier waterfall.
What the Note Means
“The bridge leading to New Eden” is the broken bridge at the Broken Bridge Shelter in the eastern Mire Marshes. From there, “head North” and look for the waterfall from the sketch on the way towards Mount Pleasant.
2 – Marsh’s Cache Treasure Location North of Broken Bridge Shelter
Location: The Mire Marshes – below the path to Mount Pleasant, north of the Broken Bridge Shelter
Quest: on your way north during the main quest Grief and Rancor
Fast travel to the Broken Bridge Shelter and follow the path north towards Mount Pleasant. You take this path during the main quest Grief and Rancor, so you can dig up the treasure on the way.
Soon you reach another broken bridge that you can only cross with Antea’s Leap ability. Use it to get to the northernmost area, just before the cave that leads to Mount Pleasant. Right after the leap, Red and Antea start talking about the treasure, so you know you’re close.
Look for the waterfall below this area. Climb down on the west side and follow the narrow path along the mountain wall. The treasure is buried at the very end of it.
3 – Marsh’s Cache Reward and Prospector Trophy
Reward: 1,108 Witch Stones
Counts as: one of the two Treasure Hunts in The Mire Marshes
Digging up Walter’s buried cache ends the treasure hunt and gives you:
Marsh’s Cache Reward
1,108 Witch Stones
Marsh’s Cache is one of the two Treasure Hunts in The Mire Marshes for region completion. The other one is the Mysterious Cache, a chain of four riddles that starts in The Dark Woods.
Like every Treasure Hunt, Marsh’s Cache also counts toward the Prospector trophy.
